a date and an old journal

hii i think, maybe it'll be more interesting if i add both Dani and Luke's pov. so yeah! don't get confused xx

"I think we should end this. We can't be friends." Luke finally speaks. He didn't say a word after what i've said earlier.

"What? Why no-"

"I just can't, alright? And i hope i helped you a little with math" he got in his car and drove off immediately.

I sighed and took a seat at a nearby bench. Was it something i said to Luke? I felt like staying here for a while. Too lazy to walk home plus, Mrs Phucket was in a good mood today, she dismissed us slightly early today. Without notice, i felt a hand rest on my shoulder.

"Hey, what are doing here?" Kyle appeared as he took a seat next to me.

"Nothing, just resting." i shook my head.

"So, i sorta did ask Mia to go homecoming, she was very happy." he smiles.

"Well im happy for you both" i patted his shoulder.

"Ahh, i asked her for the sake of you! Idiot" he nudged me, "i actually thought of asking you.." he trailed off.

"No, you know i can't do that. I don't want to hurt Mia."

"I know but i like you, not her."

"What?" i asked, making sure i heard it correctly.

"I like you, Danielle." he poked my nose.

I stood up, slinging my bag over my shoulder. I wanted to leave. Kyle soon followed me after. "Well Kyle, it was a pleasure talking to you. I'll see you soon." i walked away quickly.

He jogged after me, but i quickened my pace. "Stop," he said.

"What do you want?" i turned, folding my arms. He was on his knees catching his breath.

"It'll be a pleasure if you'd like to go out, on a date with me? Tomorrow?" he asked.

Heres the thing, we're friends and i can't imagine us dating or be anything further more than friends. But he's also charming and cute, his green emerald eyes, and also he have this long lashes. It's kinda cute.

"Well?" he asked. "You can't go to homecoming with me but you must go on a date with me, either way Grace." he smirked.

"Fine, tomorrow." i reassured him.

"I'll pick you up tomorrow at 7. Wear something sexy, cya babe" he kissed my cheek and took off.

"Dammit" i muttered to myself.

Luke's pov

I've been sitting in my room and crept in almost forever. I haven't had my dinner, well the first meal i've had was breakfast. I felt guilty for leaving Dani like that, i never meant to.. And i didn't see us going any further anyway, that's why i thought we should stop and forget everything.

Everyones been talking about homecoming today, which i have never been to, even if was forced by my friends. My past relationship was shit, i don't see the point of coming either. I don't really talk to girls in school because if i do, i'll get attached so quickly by that i mean, really attached. I never want that to happen because it caused me so much pain before. It's better if i stay away from girls from now.

"Luke? You in there?" a knock on the door disturbed me. I let out a small groan before getting up to open the door revealing my mother.

"Yeah? What is it mum?" i asked.

"You didn't come out for dinner. Must i call you down for dinner everytime Luke?" she said, i could tell by her voice tone she sound so pissed.

"Right, sorry, i don't have the appetite.." i said.

"What's wrong with you?" she asked me.

I scratched the back of my neck, "It's nothing," i made sure.

"You're scratching your neck, i know something is up. Don't try and lie to me because i will find out." she folded her arms.

"Are you kidding," i walked towards my bed and flopped down. She was still by the door.

"Alright then, if you say so. If you want, there are some leftover of your favourite cookies i made in the kitchen." she left, and of course not shutting the door back.

I got up again and decided to clean my room, i already noticed how much of a mess i made. And i can't stand mess like how does Calum live in his room full of mess? I groaned, picking up every clothes that fell out of my wardrobe. The wardrobe is so old, i've been having it since i was a kid and there's even clothes of me when i was a kid. Stupid wardrobe i said to myself.

I took out almost everything and thinking, i'm going to clean and throw whatever that doesn't fit me anymore. Then i saw this old brown leather journal that has been there since forever i guess? It was my old journal that i used to write when i was a kid, i used to update whatever was happening everyday. Because when i was little, i've always wanted to be a writer or a journalist until something happened, which made me stop writing. I flipped through the pages onto the last time i wrote in it.

23rd May, 2010

Its been weeks, i've missed you so much. I never want this relationship to end either. I love you so much Julia, i don't know what is it that i did wrong. I hope someday we'll run into each other again. Thanks for the memories. I hope you find someone better than myself. Till' we meet again.

Luke.

Brings back all the memories, Julia. She was my first love. I did everything, even sacrificed my time just to be with her. I know it was just some stupid love you think at 14 but, i loved her so much. Unfortunately we have to end things. Thats where i stopped doing whatever i like. I felt empty, lonely. I was depressed. But i've moved on, maybe that's why i wanted to end things with Dani, i didn't want to get attached again.

"Luke, you need to forget whatever happened in the past. Julia? You think she's ever coming back?" Calum asked, "You're not living man."

"Can we not talk about Julia, please?" i huffed, running my fingers through my hair.

"Well who was the one who started anyway, whatever. Homecoming? Are you going?"

I shrugged my shoulders.

"Come on! It's our final year, you need to know what homecoming is like, for once. Please?"

"Whatever, who are you going with anyways?" i asked, his lips curved into a big smile, followed by a giggle.

"Hehe, you know who.." he blushed.

"Hannah?" he nodded happily. "Awesome."

"Oh stop it we're just friends." Calum denied. We all know he's been crushing on her. But they were just close friends.

"Yeah, whatever."

"Eh, hows you and Dani?"

"We're not friends."

"Why not? I thought you both study together" he asked.

"That was one time. Let's just not talk about her."

"Wanna go for a walk?"
