"Let's play truth or dare" Luke whispers
"There's nothing much we can do in here" i rolled my eyes.
"You think so?" he smirked.
It was his bright idea while we're here in detention and came up with a stupid idea. The past 30 minutes all i ever done was entertaining him when i should be revising for a test tomorrow.
I opened my book and started focusing when Luke snapped the book away from me.
"Give it back!" i whispered to him.
"C'mon, you can do this later," he stuck out his tongue at me, still holding my book close to his chest. Not letting me take it.
I sighed, raising my hand hoping Mrs Phucket notices me when Luke throws the book back at me. Coward. I grinned at him and he rolled his eyes at me.
"Dude math is so easy." he says
"Well, easy for you but not for me." i flipped back to the page where i stopped.
"Uhh, you can ask the master of mathematics here!!" he points to himself, smiling widely.
"Really?" my face lights up.
"no"
I rolled my eyes at him and continued working on my math. I realised that i've wasted time talking to this kid. So i'm not going to let him distract me anymore.

It's the last few minutes before i can go home. I noticed Luke has been quiet all the time. I turned to look at him when i saw him sleeping in his seat with his black shades. That made me stifle a laugh.
"Y'all can leave now" Mrs Phucket told us. Her job is so easy you know, just sit on the computer and watch over students in detention, which mostly she doesn't do it. But its so relaxing and so easy.
I pack my stuffs and stand up, sliding my bag over my shoulder. Looking over Luke, who hasn't moved, robably dead asleep. I walked over to his table and slammed my hands on the table causing him to jump and awake from his sleep. He turned to both his left and right, looking like a confused puppy.
"Detention is over, punk" i let him know. He quickly grabs his stuffs and took off.
Everyone already left, except for me. I was the last one to leave when Mrs Phucket called from behind. Shit.
"Yes Mrs Phucket?" i asked
"I've been observing you," she took out her glasses, "Your grades isn't as good as last semester. Is everything okay? Like at home or something?"
"Yeah, everything is fine Mrs Phucket."
"Alright then, two more days." she reminded me which made me remember it is Wednesday. Two more days till end of the week.
I made my way and exit the room. Luke suddenly appeared infront of me out of nowhere. I thought he took off earlier.
"Boo!"
"Ha-ha, funny," i faked laugh.
"Of course i am, i'm Luke Hemmings," he said proudly.
"Why did you take off like you were going to poop your pants just now?"
"I did not, i was waiting for you."
"Sorry i was a jerk earlier, do you need help with math?" he's serious this time.
"Thought you didn't want to help me," i scoffed.
"Hey i was kidding, kiddo." he poked my sides, making me flinch.
"Finally someone is being serious. I really need help with math..the test is tomorrow!" i huffed
"Yeah, if you tell me where the library is," he looked around.
"Well that's a shame," i giggled.
"Shut up, i don't go to libraries"

"Okay, so do you understand it now?" Luke asked, he was going through the same question over and over and i never got it in my head. I nod my head, pretending i already understand. Luke squint his eyes on me,
"You don't get it do you?" he asked again
"No."
"Dani, focus, we spent almost an hour on this question. You still have a lot to go.." he flipped the pages reading almost all pages were highlighted; which means i don't understand a single shit.
"This is too hard for me!" i closed my eyes to rest.
"These are the basics that you need to know!"
"Luke you are yelling, shut up, i need a break" i said.
"Me too, do you wanna chill and do math at starbucks? I need coffee"
"Really Luke?" i rolled my eyes.

I never know this could be really relaxing, just watching people by the window, interesting stuff happening. Like someone catching their buses, walk their dogs, couples everywhere. We're here in Starbucks which likely seemed to be empty, well not really, just lesser people than i thought for a casual Wednesday.
"Dani you there?" Luke asked, snapping out my thoughts. I turned back to him and gave him a small smile.
"You ready to continue this Math?" he looked at me. My mouth forms an 'o' shape, i was really trying to ditch math and just do whatever i can for tomorrow's test. I never knew Luke was being serious.
"You don't really have to coach me if you don't really want to.." i told him.
"Um, you're not afraid of failing do you?"
"Well the thing is i couldn't care less anymore, no matter how hard i try, i'll always fail. Therefore i, really fucking hate math,"
Luke chuckled at my expression on how i said it. It's true anyway. "Alright then, suit yourself. I was trying to help you.. But it's okay since you don't want to"
"Alright then, Mr. 'So-good-at-everything', we never really get to know each other well, tell me about yourself" i smirked.
"Can't you tell by the cup im holding onto," he lifts up his starbucks, "it says Hemmings," he said it as if he was trying to be all sassy.
"Hemmings? So you like people calling you by your last name?" i tried not to laugh.
"N-no, NO, preferably, just Luke."
"Hmm," he hums, "Wanna know a nerdy secret?" he sat up from his seat.
"You can't tell anyone though..it's uh, something about me that people don't know."I nodded, telling him to go ahead.
"I love to read." he blurted out.
"How is that nerdy? It's cute though- i mean for me its rare to know guys who reads. And im sick of hearing guys who always does sport all the time," i rolled my eyes.
"Hey, my friend is in the soccer team,"
"Ah, you never really talk about your friends, tell me more." i inched closer, seeming interested."Well in case you don't know him, his name is Calum, Calum Hood, he has this um chubby face but he's not a chubby guy.. cheeky, has dimples, and he likes cuddling." he admits.
"I think i've seen him around. I just don't really see you as much as i see him in school, why?"
He let out a big sigh and rolled his eyes, "Because...most of the time i'm always in the library, reading" he said, feeling embarrassed as ever.
"And you told me you don't go to libraries!" i slapped his hand, laughing.
"Shut up," he covers his face with his hands and started making crying noises. Causing some people to turn at us.
"Here we go again.." i mumbled.
