Kai
Today was the 21st of December, the winter solstice. To celebrate, the local community center was holding a holiday fair for families and little kids, and you decided to sign up with Kai to volunteer at the craft tables and stuff like that. It, at the time, seemed like a good idea.
You decided there, though, that you would never, ever have kids. You had never been so frazzled before this. Midgets left and right were breaking crayons, throwing scissors, and getting their fingers stuck to each other with glue. One kid practically sat in your lap, splashing paint all over your clothes.
Kai wasn't doing much better, either. One sneaky kid managed to get hot glue all over Kai's chair so that he was stuck until you managed to pull him off (not without damage to his jeans) and a lot of other ones liked to pull at his hair. By the time the fair was over, both of you were a mess.
Kai pulled you outside into the blustery air, and you two stood there, facing one another. It was freezing, and of course, all you had on was a thin sweater. Kai noticed this immediately and hugged you tightly to his chest. You snuggled in as closely as you could.
"Thanks," you murmured quietly and his entire frame rumbled as he chuckled. "What's so funny?"
"It sounded like you said 'fangs'," he explained. "Tired?"
"Yeah. How's your butt doing?"
"It still kinda stings," he told you, and you had to laugh. Now he was holding you so were at arm's length and could see his face better. There were shadows under his eyes, his hair resembled a bird's nest, and his jeans had been ruined.
Yet he was one of the most beautiful people you knew.
"I love you." Wait what did I just say?! You could feel your face getting hot.
A smile broke out across his face. "Aww, I love you, too, Y/N." Then he picked you up and kissed you as the first snowflakes of the season began to sprinkle the world with white.
Zane
You climbed the tree quietly, proud that the only noise you had made was a slight rustle from your clothes. Then you planted yourself on a strong branch and waited. You and Zane were playing hide-and-go-seek to see if you could beat his super-sensitive robot hearing.
You didn't wait long, however. A few minutes had passed before Zane was up on the branch with you, grinning excitedly. "Found you!"
"What the heck, Zane!"
"I told you my nind-... robot senses go undefeated."
"Ugh!"
"What's wrong, Y/N? You sound angry," Zane said, concern lacing his voice though his smile hadn't disappeared.
You laughed. "It's nothing. I thought you wouldn't find me this time, that's all."
"I'll always find you, wherever you are." He kissed you gently. "I love you, Y/N."
"Right back at you."
Cole
"Are we almost there yet?" you whined. Cole claimed he was taking you to a surprise place and had forced you to wear a blindfold "to keep the secret location safe". Safe, your foot. He just knew you hated surprises and wanted to hold you in suspense for forty five minutes.
"Almost," you heard him snicker. Of course he was getting a kick out of your impatience! Screw him and his stupid-
"Okay we're here." He gently held you by the shoulder so you stopped walking. All you knew from the walk was that one, there was grass; and two, it was on some kind of mountain. There had been a lot of uphill climbing; you almost had tripped a couple of times and had sore legs now.
