Captor's Ships (Poem)

Today feels different.
As I strolled along the shores of the beach I realised the waters were grey- a perfect reflection of the clouds and my mood.
The tides were gentle and calm, still it foamed at the shores.
Over the horizon a golden glow lit up the skies, but it was blurred by the mist.
The outlines of ships heading for our lands was all I could see.
The air was still and stale - as if the world has stopped.
The view before me was like an old portrait painted with grief. The sun was lazy to rise.
Today was surely going to be a long day...
