Forgive Me (Poem)

On the darkest night the light of your love showed my weary and lost mind the way.
You restore in me the true warmth of the smouldering love that's dying within my heart.
My heart was taken captive in the land of darkness, but your beauty like a lamp lit my whole world up- you conquered the prevailing darkness within me.

I'm scared of having you for I fear I may lose you.
I wish I could relieve my heart of the heat of the feelings and scars that burns it.
But I reason: is it not loving that I endure the burns, rather than unleashing it out of bondage?

Forgive me if I only take quick glances and admire for the privacy of my mind.
From the words of wise men I've come to know that love is the most powerful emotion.
Well, that makes it the most dangerous too.
I fear if I let it out of the bondage of my heart it may hurt, perhaps even change me if it fails.
In tears I resent that I chose to admire you from a distance.
Your voice sounds to me like a sweet whisper that makes the adrenaline sail to my soring heart.

Forgive me for my love is weary.
