(JOEY's Point of view)
It's been three months since Chandler and Monica shifted to their "big" house with the twins, Rachel also soon moved in with Ross, and Phoebe and Mike are happily married. Well and me? I'm the same old Joey.
I sighed with content as I took the last bite of my pizza, and gulped down the beer. I was so excited about today. My new manager, Katherine, had bagged me an audition for a role opposite to THE Rebecca Anderson, a popular and an amazing actress in town and to top it off Chandler and Ross had finally agreed for a guys night out, we were going for a Nicks game tonight and then head out for a couple of beers. It's been almost a month since we all last met because Chandler HAD to shift to that stupid house outside the city. Like what even is wrong with the city? Yeah okay I'm still not used to not having my best friend living next door. We were supposed to be "Best Buds" after all.
The audition was this morning, it went amazing, and all I had to do now was wait for the call from their office.
It was 3:30 on the clock, in almost two hours both of my best friends would be here. I pulled out my Days of our lives' script from my bag and decided on going through the next episode to kill some time.
When I was at the part when Susanne declares that she is in fact Sarah, Dr. Drake Ramoray's fourth dead wife and is about to take off her mask, my phone started ringing. I jumped at the phone thinking that it was the office calling, from my earlier audition.
"Hello?" I said, somewhat breathlessly, the age got to you sometimes.
"Hey Joe? It's Ross. Are you okay?"
"Hey Ross! What's up? Yeaaah I'm fine just a little tired." I reply, running a hand through my hair.
"Oh Okay, hey listen, I'm sorry but I don't think I can make it tonight. Monica and I have to attend this family function and I tried to get out of it but....." he kept rambling about why he had to attend the function and saying how sorry he was.
"What? Aw man, that sucks" I whined.
"Yeah I know Joe, I'd rather be at a Nicks game too but my parents really want me to go and.." he again started rambling about how sorry he was."Ross! Ross! Hey it's okay, I understand, we'll plan something else soon, don't worry, have fun!" I cut him off.
"Thanks Joe, I owe you one!" he said, after mumbling a "yeah it's okay" I hung up. I called Chandler after that to tell him that Ross couldn't come tonight, to say, I wasn't surprised when he said that even he couldn't come tonight. The conversation basically went like this,
"Hey Chandler it's Joey"
"Hey Joey, I was just about to call you"
"Oh yeah? What's up? Oh, by the way, Ross can't make it tonight he has to go to some stupid family function" I grumbled.
"Oh. Yeah that's what I wanted to talk to you about" he said from the other line.
"What is it?"
"I can't come too, I'm so sorry Joe! Monica told me about this function at the last minute and now I have to go as she doesn't have anyone to take care of the kids, and oh god I'm so sorry"
"Hey it's okay. Everyone has their own lives to live now." And I hung up without waiting for his reply.
Yes, it bummed me out. I was looking forward to meet them. I really missed my best buddies. I hardly ever saw them.
I decided to eat out for dinner all by myself I could call Phoebe or Rachel but I figured they must be busy too, I was just eager to get out of the lonely apartment for which I still had to find a good flatmate. I stopped by a small cozy restaurant and sat in the booth by the corner from where I could see the every part of the restaurant clearly. I ordered a drink, to buy myself some time before having to order. As I was twirling my glass to take the next sip, I heard the bell near the restaurant's door ring, I looked up and it was like the time stopped. Standing near the entrance was the most beautiful girl I've ever laid eyes on. Her brownish hair were long and wavy and framed her face perfectly, she ran a hand through them as she looked around the restaurant. Her black jeans and blue corset type thingy showed off her curves perfectly. Man she was hot. I wished Chandler and Ross would be here with me to agree. She walked through the restaurant and sat down in a booth near the window. It was obvious that she was waiting for someone as she kept looking at her watch every five minutes.
She had me captivated and I couldn't stop staring. I barely managed to look away when the waiter came by asking me for my order. I quickly ordered their 'tonight's special' and sent him away. At one point she even noticed me staring and I gave her a small smile only to get a raised eyebrow in reply.
It had been a while since she entered the restaurant; she still sat there alone, checking her watch every other minute. The food in front of her remained untouched and all she did was sip on her drink every once in a while. She looked tired, sad even. Maybe this was my chance to stoop in and make a move. She probably had been stood up by some idiot and I was sure I could lift up her mood. I was done with my dinner, I paid for it and pulled out the single rose from the vase kept on the table, I was sure the restaurant people wouldn't mind. After making the final decision and mustering up enough courage I walked to her table. As I neared her table, she looked up and stared right at me till I reached her.
Without letting her say anything or ask any questions, I bowed down a little, presenting the rose to her and with the infamous 'Joey' smile I said,
"Hey, How you doing?"

Hey guys!
So this is something I wrote this almost a year ago in some creative writing workshop and it was just lying around somewhere and I thought why not just put it here. So yeah. Hope you like it! I'm sure Joey holds a special place in everyone's hearts! ;)Also you may have noticed that I changed the genre of this book from "Poetry" to "General fiction" as I think that's more suited because this book doesn't just have poems, it also has letters and short stories which I'm sure are not poems :P but before I did, this book was #21 in what's hot-poetry! Amazing! ♡
That being said, I'm starting a new book with just some of my poems soon, and so this book will only be updated with stuff other than my poems from now on. But you all are still welcome to send me your works (even poems) and I'll put them here!
Thanks for everything!
