twenty three.

She was crying softly and I couldn't make a move. I just stood there in the doorway watching a lost mum looking at her lifeless sun asking that he would wake up.

The words she said really moved me. I felt exactly what she was feeling, the need to say a proper goodbye to someone you care about and love so much.

"Oh darling I didn't see you standing there. How long have you been there?" Victoria said, quickly wiping her tears away.

"No problem and long enough to hear those beautiful words. I know what you mean Victoria." I answered also wiping a few tears away.

A few tears rolled down her face again. "Come here." She said, opening her arms for me. I gave her a big hug, something we both needed.

In that moment that actually should make us strong, we both broke down. We were sobbing into each others shoulders, letting all our emotions go. After a good five minutes we let go.

"Sorry." Was all she said.

"Don't be it was something we both needed. We both are having a hard time and sometimes it's good to let it all out Vic. Don't be ashamed of it, there's no need for that. Keeping your emotions for yourself is never good. You sometimes just have to let them all out." I said trying to comfort her.

"Thanks Kaithlyn, it really helped me. I sure am having a hard time seeing my oldest son laying here almost lifeless. And I'm not alone, I know it but sometimes it just feels like that. Anyway enough sad talk! How was you meal? What did you eat?" She said changing the subject which was clearly a hard and though subject for her. Which is absolutely understandable.

"Not good almost ate nothing and Lucie, that girl I sometimes talk to at lunch was pretty upset. She was going completely nuts when I asked her if everything was alright."

"Oh that's not good. What was wrong?"

"Her boyfriend who's also in the hospital, had another heart attack. Pretty sad for her."

"It sure is sad. She must feel terrible."

I nodded. "She going out of her mind in this hospital. She seriously needs to get some fresh air but her boyfriend has no family anymore. Now yeah he still has a sister but they don't have any contact anymore for more than three years so."

"What if you go and check on her and get some fresh air? Maybe go for a walk? Or get some coffee? Or eat a snack because the two if you will be starving!"

"That maybe isn't such a bad idea. But is it alright to leave you here alone with Brooks?"

"Yeah David is coming in twenty. I can take care of myself sweetie."

"Alright then I'll see you later! Take care Vic!"

"Bye Kaith!" And with that I walked out of the room to my old one where my normal clothes still where.

I grabbed a simple shirt, a hoodie, some black jeans and my all black vans. I put on my jacket and took my beanie with me. 

I walked to the elevator, pressing the button. I didn't have to wait long before it was on my level, level 5. I walked in pressing the button with the 3 on. We made a stop in the fourth level and a few people stepped out. Than the elevator stopped on my level and I walked out searching for room 318. After a minute I found the door and knocked softly on it.

"Come in." I heard a shaking voice say.

"Hi." I said walking in and waving at Lucie and a women who I suppose is her mum since the two of them looked a bit like each other.

"Oh Kaithlyn what are you doing here?" She said shocked.

"I just wanted to come and check on you after, you know, what happened in the cafeteria."

"Oh I'm fine, thanks."

"Luce isn't it time for you to get some fresh air? It will be good for you, not facing these four white walls and just clearing your mind a bit. What do you think? Wanna come with me?"

"Uh I don't know.." She said looking at her mum who nodded at her.

"Go, that girl is right. It's good for you my darling." Lucie nodded at her and grabbed her jacket.

"Well here we go than!" She said. "Bye, see you later mum." She waved at the women and walked out with me.

"Where do you wanna go?" I asked her.

"I don't know. To be honest I'm staving so maybe grab a snack and go to the park?"

"Sounds good to me!" I said walking to a little store.

"What do you want to eat?" I asked her, she frowned.

"I don't know. What about some donuts or muffins?!"

"Or both!" She giggled and grabbed six donuts and two brownies.

"Let's pay for it and go to the park!"

I searched in my pocket for some money and found a twenty dollar bill, great! I paid and we left.

As soon as we made it to the park she sat on a bench and ate one of the donuts. I also took one since I was pretty hungry too.

"Hmmm they taste amazing! Thanks for taking me with you Kaithlyn."

"They do and No problem."

"Things are pretty rough."

"I know how's he doing?"

"Better but he's still a coma... How's Brooklyn doing?"

"Fine I think... They say there is a change he'll wake up."

"Really! That's amazing!"

"Yes it is. And just that you know if there is something you can always tell me okay. I'm there for you if you need me."

"Thanks!" She smiled and took another bite if her donut.

We pretty much did the same fir the next two hours, eating donuts, talking and even laughing. It was pretty nice, she's a good girl.

"I think it's time for us to head back Luce."

"Yeah think so too. I don't want to but still." She stood up and we walked back.

After fifteen minutes we where back and said our goodbyes.

"See you tomorrow in the cafeteria?"

"Good for me! See ya!"

"Bye!"

I walked back to the elevator and pressed the button with the 5. I changed into my hospital clothes again and headed back to Brooks room.

I opened the door and found my two besties there!

"Bailey? Shay? What the heck are you two doing here?!" I smiled and hugged them.

"We wanted to see how our pregnant best friend is doing!"

"I'm fine, thanks."

"How's the baby?" Bailey asked me.

"She's good, healthy." I smiled rubbing my growing belly.

"Good do you have a name for her?"

I teared up. "No." I said a tear rolling down my face.

"I need to discuss that with Brook."

"True, sorry." Shay said. I sat down in the chair I normally sat in and looked up at Vic and David.

"Any news?"

The shook their heads no and I looked down.

Wake up Brooks, please wake up. I know you will and can. You're a fighter, you've always been.
