Chapter Nineteen
The conversation with me and Ricardo died down from time he started driving. Like I asked him to drop me to Jerome’s yard and that’s what he did. Then he parked up the car and then just looked at me.
“Thanks” I said.
“Your welcome” he replied and then he just carried on looking at me.
“What” I asked.
“Erm... nothing” he asked looking away. I go out the car and said ‘weird’ to myself. I walked up the stairs and then knocked on the door. Jerome answered the door and he looked like he just came out the shower cause he had his towel on.
“Hey beautiful” he said. I kissed him gently and then walked in.
“Where’s Carla?” I asked.
“Erm… she’s in the bathroom. I think” he replied.
“Oh okay then” I said and then I sat on the couch.
“Babes I’m going to be right back yeah” he said.
“Yeah sure” I replied. I watched him go into his room. I smiled to myself and then turned on the T.V. The front door rang. I decided to get it because Jerome was busy and Carla’s in the bathroom so I might as well get it. When I opened the door it was Ricardo.
“Ricardo? What you doing here?” I asked.
“Erm… I wanted to come in and say wag1 to Jerome. Aint seen him in a while you know and he’s my close dargy” he replied.
“Oh okay. Come in then” I said inviting him in. He sat on the couch with me and I was interested in the T.V.
“Melissa?” Ricardo started to say.
“Yeah” I said looking at the T.v.
“Do you know when someone likes you?” he asked.
I looked at him like huh.
“Nah like... Can you tell when someone likes you?”
“Erm… I don’t really need to cause I got Jerome remember” I replied.
“Well I’ve been building up the nerve to tell you this and I can’t keep it in any longer” he said.
“Okay then spill”
“Well… I…”
“Yo Ricardo when did you come in?” Jerome said walking in towards us.
“Just a few minutes ago” Ricardo replied.
“Yeah actually Ricardo wanted to see you I think” I said.
“Oh what did you want to see me about” Jerome asked.
“Erm nothing just wanted to see you… no homo” Ricardo replied.
Jerome kind of laughed and then spudded each other.
“Hey what’s taking Carla so long to come out the bathroom or the bedroom or where ever she is?” I asked.
“Don’t know. I know you girls like to take you time and get ready and all that” Jerome replied.
“Oh yeah Ricardo what did you want to tell me… you know the important thing?” I asked. Ricardo froze and Jerome was like,
“Oh you got something important to say. How comes I didn’t know any of this?”
“Nah it nothing. It wasn’t even that important you know” he replied.
“what do you mean nothing important…”
“It wasn’t what you think it was alright” Ricardo said to Jerome.
“Good” he replied.
“Wait… am lost. What you two talking about now?” I snapped in.
“Its nothing” Jerome replied.
“Well it must be something for you keeping it away from me” I said.
“Don’t worry Melissa. Sooner or later you will find out for yourself. I got to go. See you lot another time” Ricardo said and then left. I was confused. What was going on?
