It had been roughly 4 years now after that night when Robin had lost his home and his parents to the killer known only as The Bogeyman . The boy was now 9 years old and had issues settling into care. After a long month of dead ends , the facility had found a couple looking to adopt.

"This is Richard."

The workman smiled as he and the boy walked to the desk to meet and greet the new family, there was a man, a woman and a small girl. Robin nodded and bowed to them silently. It was evident that he suffered trauma.

"Hello there, my name is Lucielle and this is my husband Ron and my daughter Sharon, it's really nice to meet you Richard."

Smiles the woman kindly as she held out her hand to take his own, Robin timidly took her hand and waved to the workman as they left for the car. He listens to the girl talk about school and her house all the way home. Sharon gave him a tour and it was evident that they were well off.

"You'll like it here. Mom can be weird but all are. What were your folks like?"

Lucielle walked in and gave her daughter a look of annoyance as she notions for her to leave the room. Sharon waved goodbye to Robin and then skipped away. The boy was taken to his own room and given new clothes.

"I know....we aren't your family, but ... We'd love to have you as part of ours... So if you try, we will....okay?"

Smiled Lucielle warmly, Robin nodded as he followed her out of the room. Throughout the day, he spent most of it with Sharon and Lucielle, he barely saw Ron at all until the night came. Ron explained that he worked during the days and was home at night prominently.

"If you need anything, you let me know... Just stay away from my shed."

Ron added the last with a warning tone. That had made the boy curious , why couldn't he look there? What could be so bad that he'd not allow access to the shed. Lucielle laughed when Robin accused him of having a body in there.

"It's only for sharp tools, if you look you might be harmed. We aren't a family of murderers, Robin . I assure you on that, now come on. It's bed time and let's hope you settle."

The woman stated as she lead the boy upstairs, watched him clean his teeth and then crawl into the bed. Smiling, the woman took a comic out and started to read some pages to him. Robin looked at the book tiredly as his eyes drooped over , soon he was fast asleep. Kissing his head, Lucielle got up and walked from the room , turning off the lights as she done so.

Lucielle looked in her daughters room to see how she was, the girl was fast asleep cuddling into her stuffed cat toy. Exiting the room, she returns to her own bed and curls next to her husband. He looked at her with a smile and asked her about the boy.

"I think he's gonna like it here, Sharon really loves him a lot. Do you know much else about him? His case only said his parents died from tragic causes."

Ron didn't want to tell his wife of the tragic events, but it'd be wrong to keep it from her, he started to tell her about what else the worksman had alerted him to for Robin's case file. His parents had been gutted by some unknown assailant and from what they got out the boy, the killer told him. That he'd be back for him.

"Oh my god, that poor child..."

Lucielle covered her mouth and held back tears for the boy. The woman shuddered as she asked more questions, the more she asked, the less that she liked the answer her husband gave her.

"How old was he?"

Ron yawned and then answered his wife. He had to be up early and the questions had began to annoy him now. But he did so none the less.

"The boy, as far as I know, was 5 years old when this happened to him...I'm really surprised that he'd remember that so well..every detail at least."

Taking that as her cue to stop, the woman merely hugged her husband and proceeded to fall asleep. She whispered lowly as her conscious mind faded to black.

"We'll do good for him, we won't let him down ."

She mumbled as her mind faded to black....

Neither aware.... Of the shadow.... Lurking the hallway....

Sharon tossed and turned as she struggled to sleep before waking up, she saw the figure in her room and tilted her head as it spoke to her .

"Girls need to rest."

It taunted, she pulled her covers up and then said in a small voice.

"Are you real?"

The figure walked to the trembling child and placed a hand on her head softly.

"No, your lucid dreaming. When you shut your eyes, I'll be gone."

Scrunching her eyes shut, the little girl counted to five and when her eyes reopened, the man was gone, just as he'd stated.

"Mh... Maybe he's magic..."

The tired child mumbled as she curled up and fell fast asleep once more, completely unaware of the shadow staring from under her bed.
