They had been in a place where a human could never find it.This place was everywhere and nowhere.
Maya had lost her mind.Where were they?
That place was not a location.
Maya only saw a white sky and mountains where Archangels were standing.
Nathaniel was next to her.They had been arrested by the Order of the Archangels.
Archangel Gabriel and Michael were with them and not in the mountains.
Archangel Gabriel was praying.Probably to God.
"My Lord,please forgive us.We hadn't suspected anything.Please forgive us"Archangel Gabriel murmured.
Archangel Michael looked at them angrily.
"You will be PUNISHED!"Archangel Michael yelled and he was heard all over the mountain.
"Yeah!Punishment!"
"Punishment!"
Even though the rest of the Archangels were far away from them,they could hear them like they were next to them.
Nathaniel held Maya's hand.They looked each other and then they closed their eyes,waiting for their punishment.
While the Archangels were protesting,a loud voice was heard from that endless white sky.
"ENOUGH!"
And a light appeared.
Then,the Archangels worshiped that light.
"What's happening there?"the voice said.
Maya was shocked.
That voice...
It's God...
"Oh,our Creator!One of us betrayed our Order and You!!!"Archangel Gabriel said.He was on the verge of bursting in tears.
"Who is that Archangel who dared to get hide from me?"God said furious.
That moment,Maya was sure that He would kill her and would exile Nathaniel from paradise.
Nathaniel took a step foward.
"It was me,my Lord..."Nathaniel said bravely and his white wings became brighter.
All the Archangels hushed.
Maya was surprised by his courage.
"...And I am tired of running away!I have no regrets!I have done nothing wrong.I fell in love..."Nathaniel confessed looking Maya.Maya smiled to him.Nathaniel could feel her fear.
"Do you know what you are Nathaniel?"God put a rhetorical question.
Meanwhile,the Archangels continued to protest and yell.
"Yes,God..."
"Do you know that you have been lying to me the whole time?"
After this question,Nathaniel was ashamed.His head went down.
"I know,my Lord.And I am ashamed of that.But,please...You understand everything!I love her!She loves me too.I need her.She needs me.I abandonned her one time,because of You.But,the problem was that I can't live without her.She can't live without me!I am sure you have seen her difficult and cruel life!"Nathaniel said,finding his courage again.
"I know this,Nathaniel..."his voice was calm ."As I know everything about your relationship..."
All the Archangels were shocked and speechless.
"You knew?"Archangel Gabriel asked confused.
"Yes,I knew.I just wanted to see what they would choose.They have sacrifised everything in order to be together".
"But how?"Archangel Nathaniel asked.
"I am God.I know everything.Nothing can be hidden from Me"God said.
Maya hoped that God would understand.
"Despite that...I must exile you and kill the girl..."
Maya burst into tears.
"No,God!Please!"Nathaniel begged.
"That's the rule.And you were aware of it...So bring the girl to me..."
Maya looked to Nathaniel for a last time.
And she took a step foward.
Now,God would kill her.
The sky became dark.
It is time.
But the sky turned to white again.
"On the other hand..."
Maya looked at the light.
"I can't kill something that I have created on my own..."
Maya was so relieved.Nathaniel hugged her and kissed her.
"Nevertheless..."
What did God decide?
"I will set both of you free.I won't exile Nathaniel from paradise and he won't stop being an Archangel.But I will erase Maya's memories.She won't remember who Nathaniel is.All of their moments will be erased".
Maya would tear apart.She would lose him forever.
"No,God.Don't do this to me..."Nathaniel begged.
"I am sorry.The other choice is to kill her and exile you..."God said sadly.
Nathaniel looked at Maya.She didn't want to say him goodbye.
"I don't care about me...I don't want to see you dead..."Nathaniel said.He was about to cry in the thought that Maya would forget him...
"So,we have to say goodbye..."Maya said and tears were dropping.
Nathaniel touched her cheeks and looked for last time her beautiful green eyes.
"I am sorry if there was a time I hurt you..."
"Darling,I forgive you after all"Maya said and caressed his cheek.
Nathaniel kissed her head.
"I don't want to forget how it feels..."Maya said.
"Neither do I"Nathaniel said.
How could they live without each other?
"You were the whole sky to me,not just the moon..."Maya said and continued crying.
"Shhh"
Nathaniel wiped away her tears.
"I didn't know what love means,till I met you.I love you Maya.I want you to promise me that you will be happy and you will fulfil all of your dreams.I want you to save human lifes as you always wanted"Nathaniel said.
"I promise"Maya nodded.
All the eyes were turning to them.
"I can't believe that I will forget you.I don't want to!I love you so much!!!"
"Neither do I.But,you have to..."
Maya couldn't stop crying.
"I would die for you,Nathaniel..."
"No,Maya!I don't want to see you dead!"
"They say to forget the past.But,I can't.Because you are a part of it..."Maya said and Nathaniel kissed her softly.
"I will be watching you living your life happy ..."Nathaniel said.
Maya kissed him.It was the last time she kissed him.
"Maya..."he whispered.
Meanwhile,their faces were still too close together.
"Yes,Nathaniel..."Maya whispered too.
Nathaniel looked through her eyes for last time.
"Never forget that I love you..."
Maya's world collapsed.
"I won't..."
Both of them knew that she wouldn't have the ability to keep that promise.
Finally,they gave their last kiss.
