Maya woke up with a headache.
She needed more sleep.
Her dad nocked her bedroom's door.
"Come in!"
Maya was not in the mood to see him.
"Good morning"her dad said.He was so cold to her.In fact,her relationship with the daddy wasn't the best.
"When did you come?"Maya asked.
"Between 22:00-22:15"her dad answered.
Oh,no!She was 100% sure that he had seen Nathaniel.
She went to bed that time.And Nathaniel was with her.
His last words,before he left,had been:Sleep,Maya.Sleep.
Such a melodic voice.
Maya started falling for him.
But no!He was a stranger and he was hiding something dark.
"Breakfast is ready.You can come".
Dad Tomas seemed sad and regretful.Before he closed the door,Maya asked him a question.
"Dad,did you see anyone when you returned at home?Last night?"
Her dad was surprised and curious.
"No.Was someone else with you?"
"No"she lied.
"By the way,your window had been opened all night.Close it!It gets cold".
Her dad left.
Wait a minute?Her window was openned?Maya hadn't openned it.What if Nathaniel had?
What if he heard her dad and openned it?It wasn't at all high from her window.Maya and her dad weren't living at a flat.They had their own house.
"My cellphone!Where is it?"she was asking herself.Well,it was at her office.She found that and a paper...

She would take the risk.

It was a cold afternoon.Although,the sun was shining.The water of the lake was like a crystal.
Nathaniel had been waiting for her near the lake.
How romantic,she thought.
"I can say that you know well how to escape".
"What?"Nathaniel wondered.
"Come on!Were you afraid to see my daddy?You left from the window".
"Yes,I didn't want to bother you and make a noise"he answered.
How could he find that so normal?
Maya was a little afraid of him.In a good way.
"You are creepy"she admitted.
Nathaniel laughed.
"Yes,but I am your protector".
He approached her.They were really close.
Maya started walking.
"Do you believe in fate?"she asked him,like saying It was fate to meet you.
"I believe in God.Only in God"
Nathaniel was following her.They were crossing a path with many trees and lot of grass and you couldn't even see the sun cause of those huge trees.
"No.I don't believe.Because the real God wouldn't let my mommy to die.He wouldn't give me a life full of misery.If God was what they say He is,people wouldn't live under cruel conditions.Sometimes,I feel that He doesn't care and...doesn't even exist".
Nathaniel's face changed.He seemed angry.
"That's a blasphemy.Beware of what you are saying.You could be punished"he said.
"I don't give a shit"she joked.
When she looked at Nathaniel his golden eyes were brighter and he was really furious.
"Nathaniel?What's wrong?Your eyes..."
Nathaniel wanted to kill her.But something stopped him.It was her look.He closed his eyes and when he openned them,they were normal again.
"Nathaniel..."
Maya touched his cheeks with her cold hands.
"I gotta go".
He said and left her alone.
