Chapter 11: The Sudden Strike of Distress!

"You know Lucy risked her life to make that medicine for you, right?"

Natsu stopped eating, turning to look at Gray with cluelessness.  "Eh?"

Gray sighed.  "Like I said, you should do something for Lucy in payment for her risking her life in order for you to feel better."

Erza appeared on the deck in summer clothes, enjoying the sun's rays.  "He's right, Natsu.  How are you going to repay her?"

Natsu grumbled as he swallowed his food, now deep in thought.  "I dunno..."

Lucy was walking around the ship, looking around.  It really was a nice ship; they had gotten lucky the captain was so generous.  Lucy, of course, knew how much it was probably stressing the captain to go all this way for a couple of passengers, so she had paid him one-thousand jewels extra as a thank you.  The captain was flustered at first and denied the money, but Lucy was too stubborn to give up.  In the end, the captain had excepted it, but not without letting them have the chefs on the ship make sure their meals were free.

Lucy had just left from that conversation with him, actually.  As she was heading down to the ship's deck, she spotted Natsu bickering with Happy about who knew more about fish.  Lucy held back a laugh at the childishness between the two, and continued down to the deck to walk over to them.

Erza was practicing in the combat room that the big ship had, and Gray was in his room sleeping.  Wendy was spending time with the female doctor of the ship, having to of taken a great liking to the lady.  It was just Natsu, Happy, and Lucy out for now.

"It's pretty pointless to bicker about who knows more about fish, you two!"  Lucy scolded them, stopping in front of Natsu and Happy.

"But I clearly do!"  Natsu whined.

Happy looked from shocked to defiant to mad in one split second.  "No you don't Natsu!  I clearly know more about fish, since I'm a cat!"

"Nuh-uh!  There're fish experts, aren't the Luce?!"  Natsu exclaimed, turning to her.

Lucy sighed.  "I am not getting pulled into this..."

As Lucy left Natsu's sight, Natsu and Happy went neck and neck again.

But when they heard a sudden rattle, Natsu turned to the direction where Lucy had gone, and just barely saw her figure disappear overboard.

"Lucy!"  Natsu exclaimed, running over to the railing where Lucy had disappeared.

He jumped onto the side as Lucy splashed into the churning waves, disappearing under the water.

"Happy, go get Wendy and the others!"  Natsu exclaimed over his shoulder, jumping into the water after Lucy.

"Aye!"  He heard Happy yell before his head submerged under the water.

Lucy was unconscious, her face covered by the shadows of the water.  She was falling father and farther into the sea, and Natsu yelled her name through the water as he stared diving after her.  If Lucy hadn't given Natsu the medicine, he would've gotten motion sickness and would have been unable to go after her.
