Mom didn't want to say too much to me until Tom was back with Günther, so we waited in the living room. I finally allowed Lily to carry Lena on her arms, she managed to hold her but preferred to run around with the dogs soon after, so I had sleeping Lena's head on my shoulder when Tom appeared through the door with Günther.

"Mommy!" Gün yelled and Mom ran up to tell him to keep it down as I ran upstairs to put my baby girl on her crib. "Mommy!" He yelled again and Lena moved but didn't seem to wake up.

I shushed a little as I laid her down on her crib next to her beloved teddy bear; I leaned over and kissed her tinny nose and turned a single light on, I watched her from above for a few seconds before Tom's ever familiar arms wrapped around my middle as he held me from behind for a second before placing his hand next to mine on the edge of the crib.

"How did it go?" I asked him and placed my hand on his.

"Very well, he's downstairs telling your mother everything about his brand new guitar." He said and kissed my neck. "I am sorry you feel like I... like I work too much."

I was pressed against the crib when he reached out and put the stuffed animal closer to Lena's arms, she grabbed it in a second and made us both chuckle as she snuggled against it.

"Oh, baby girl..." I smiled down at her. "Goodnight." I turned around and saw Tom staring at her too.

He whispered goodnight to her too and then followed me outside as I closed her door. Tom and I walked downstairs in silence as Mom made something to eat for both, Gün and Lily.

"Hey," Tom pulled at my arm and stopped me from going into the kitchen, "are we really going to pretend like we didn't have that conversation? Because-"

"I don't need an apology, Tom." I told him honestly and made sure he was looking into my eyes when I said the next words: "I am done with apologies. You better make it count for them, before you become-"

Now he interrupted me.

"My father." I shook my head at him.

"A stranger." I shrugged and cleared my throat. "...mom wants to talk to us, something about Lily and... she really wants to get down to it."

Tom nodded and we went into the kitchen, immediately Günni attacked me with details about his new guitar, which Tom had taken to Gün's room.

"And it's black!" Gün was so excited, over the moon excited.

"What?" I pretended to be excited too. "No way!" He nodded with a big smile playing on his face. "Wow, did you thank your dear Opa?" He nodded. "What about daddy?"

Gün jumped out of his seat and went up to Tom talking to Lily about keyboards, she was having fun talking about music but our boy interrupted by tugging at Tom's pants.

"What's up, man?" Tom said and Günther put his arms out, askingTom to pull him up. He sighed and grabbed him from under the arms, sitting him on his knee.

"Thank you for the guitar, daddy, I will play all day!" He said and Tom nodded. We both doubted he would be playing all day.

"I'm sure you will!" Tom said and there was that proud grin on his face.
