Tom was out fixing some details with his manager to start the small tour on his own, so I went to the laboratory to give some samples for blood and urine tests the doctor had asked me to get before our appointment on Friday. Ge had said he was okay with watching Günther and Lena, I knew Günther had taken his guitar with him since there were very few places we allowed him to go to without it. Lena was not very fond of Georg, but she knew perfectly how to get Uncle Ge's attention even if Tom hated to see her start to bond with anyone who wasn't him.

I didn't leave on my own, Bill was busy working on his own clothing line but Angie and I needed to go to the office that day, so she came with me.

"Oh, that looks..." Angie almost faint as soon as the doctor put the small plastic tube on the end of the needle to get the blood sample.

"Take a deep breath and look away, Miss." Said the nurse.

I giggled, it didn't hurt at all; it was nothing but a small pinch, although Angie got so pale and shaken by it that I thought it might actually hurt a little. Before having Günther I had been more than afraid of needles, but then I just couldn't be.

When we were done with the tests Angie and I went back to the office where we met with some people from different brands who wanted us to sell their clothes, bags and shoes on our stores; the meetings went well. I spoke with a very enthusiastic older woman from a high quality, unknown handbags' brand; she was very clear when she said that the bags they made were not cheap but they lived up to the expectations, she was a great businesswoman and didn't hesitate to give us some numbers, which I didn't understand very much about yet, still, the sales director was impressed with the information that the tall and slender cat eyed woman threw at us.

It wasn't until midday that I got caught up with the phone between my shoulder and ear, and the surprise visit from Tom.

"... Lily, I have already told you; the fact that you kiss a boy means nothing!" I giggled, she had gotten especially squeamish about boys since Tom told her about the baby making technic. "Tell me, who's this lucky ten year old?"

"I didn't kiss him!" She argued, "...it was...a peck on the cheek..." She explained quietly.

"Okay, okay...but what's his name?" I asked her.

She hummed for a second and then she spoke with her regular joyfulness, the same we hadn't heard once while she was with us when Fernando started his treatment and mom decided she should stay with us.

"Esteban." She said. "He is eleven." She added, as if that was something so incredible.

I acted surprised, overdoing it so she would believe it through the phone. I laughed and looked at the small corridor next to the desks, I thought I had heard something familiar. That was when I heard that little voice I couldn't ignore.

"Mami!" It was sudden, high-pitched, and quick. I stretched out my neck to look at the doorway.

Tom was there, I got to see just a glimpse of him with Lena on his arm and Günther already wandering off to the meeting room on the opposite side of our big office.
