Me-(smacks my phone)
I laid there for a minute before getting up because I was not ready to go to school. I felt for my glasses and put them on. I walked to my bathroom and looked in the mirror. I look hideous. I took my shower and got ready for the day (outfit in comments). I put my contacts in and left.
Me-Bye Ma
Mom-Later nina.
I walked to school and took a deep breath before walking in. As I was walking down the hallway, out of the corner of my eye, I saw August and his crew. He had this girl all over him, but it wasnt his girlfriend. Not my problem. I walked to my locker and my best friend Melanie came up to her locker which is right next to mine.
Melanie-Hey pretty lady. You look cute.
Me-No I dont. You do though. Makeup is on point
Melanie-Thank you thank you. I love that lip color on your skin tone. Arielle would love that color
Me-I try. I try. Speaking of Arielle, where is she?
Melanie-Probably in class.
Me-Class doesnt start for another 20 minutes
Melanie-But you know her have to be on time for everything. You too.
Me-Mee?!
Melanie-Yes you. Lets go to class before anyone goes in there.
When Melanie and I walked into class, Arielle was sitting in her seat in the front of the class. I sat in my seat next to her, which was in the front, but in the corner next to the window. I like looking out the window during class sometimes. Melanie sat on Arielle's desk
Arielle-What are you doing Mel?
Melanie-Hello to you too
Arielle-Hello Melanie.
Melanie-Thats better.
Arielle-What are we going to do with her?
Me-I dont know. You found her.
Melanie-Hey!
Arielle-Sorry its true
Melanie-Oh look. August and his crew.
Arielle-How come he is never with his girlfriend?
Me-(shrugs)
Melanie-I swear she is so uninterested when it comes to them
Me-I dont have time for them. Simple as that.
Arielle-At least shes honest
Teacher-(waks in class) Alright class, take your seats. Melanie, in a chair.
Melanie-(sits down)
Teacher-I have a project that i want you guys to work on.
Class-(groans)
Arielle-Elaina loves projects
Melanie-She loves school
Teacher-You will work on this project in partners. So the partners are...
I hope she doesnt put me with August or any of them.
Teacher-Last but not least, Elaina and August.
Why lord? Hopefully I could change partners
Teacher-And dont even try to change partners. I put you guys together for a reason. Since this is a English class, you will have to write a personality profile on your partner and then present it to the class.I want to know their personality, what they like, what they dont like, their flaws, interests, etc. It is due in one month and you will not be able to work on it during class, so you are expected to meet with your partner outside of school to work on your projects. You have the rest of the period to meet with your partner and work out how you are going to do your projects. Go and keep the noise down.
August-Who's Elaina?
Trey-I dont know. Is she new or something?
Teacher-No shes not new, Elaina raise your hand please
Me-(raises hand)
I laid back in my seat. He would have thought I was going to get up and walk over to him. But nobody sees me here, so its whatever. People dont even know I exist. Next thing I knew, I felt a presence sit next to me. I shot my eyes to the right to see August sitting there.
August-So are we going to do this project or what?
Me-(shrugs)
August's POV
Who the hell is this Elaina chick? She kinda cute. She not all that though. And I know she not ignoring me. No one ignores August.
Me-So heres my number. Text me whenever youre ready to work on this project. Lets do this sooner than later becuase I cant be seen around with your type of people.
Elaina-(low) My type of people?
Me-Yes, your type of people, the nerds, the nobodies.
Elaina-(whispers) Oh (puts head down)
Did I hurt her feelings? Oh well.
Elaina's POV
The bell rang and I ran out of the room with my head down. I dont know how Im going to work with August.
Melanie-Eli, you're working with August. How is he?
Me-A jerk. He kept looking at me with disgust. The had the nerve to say that he doesnt associate with my type of people.
Arielle-And that means?
Me-The nobodies, the nerds, us.
Melanie-Where he at? Let me tell him something
Me-No little one. Calm down. Its nothing. We are going to do the project and we are going to go back to what we were before. Him a popular guy an me a nerd. Thats it.
