It's never fun being the new girl. Everyone sucks up to you because you're the new girl. Everyone is fake around you for about the first week. You don't know who are the real people. I was moving to a small town in Mississippi, called Hattiesburg. My dad had been transferred to Mississippi for his job. The weather is ok. Back in Texas it was always hot. Here it's humid and rainy. I like rain for some odd reason. It's my first day as a junior at the new school today. I'm wearing knee high gray boots, skinny jeans, a scarf, and a flannel. I curled my ombré'd brown hair. I even did my makeup a little bit more to make my blue eyes "pop". I want to make a good first impression. Today would determine the next 2 years. I got in the car and headed up to the school. When I got there, the other students were already in third period. I went to the office and they gave me my schedule, books, and locker combination. They took me to my locker and put my books in. Next they took a look at my schedule. Geometry, biology, gym, US history, lunch, French and drama. The teacher took me to fourth period, US history. The teacher knocks.
"Good morning, Mrs. Lot, this is your new student, Eliza Williams."
"Hello, Eliza, make yourself comfortable right over there." Mrs. Lot says while pointing over to an empty chair. Right. Smack. In the middle of the room. Great, just what I need. To the left of me was a girl, brown hair, she looked nice. "Hi, I'm Cailey." She says.
"Hi." I quietly respond.
To the right of me, was a boy. Black hair, green eyes. He was actually kind of hot. Who knows.
"Ok, so today we will be partnering up on a project. You will write an essay on World War II. Mrs. Williams, if you want to be exempt from this project, you may, unless you'd like to do it, the grade you make on this will be your current grade in my class."
"Um.." I say shyly.
"I'll partner up with her!" Cailey says, raising her hand. "If that's okay with you." She says looking at me.
"Yeah, sure." After everyone was assigned partners, the bell rang. Lunch. Well, now time to embarrass my ass off sitting alone, at least that's what I assumed.
"Hey, Eliza!" Cailey says. How'd she know where my locker was? Oh well.
"I was wondering if you'd like to see with me and my friend?"
"Yeah. Hey, thanks for volunteering to be my partner, but just to warn you, I'm not very could when it comes to World War."
"It doesn't matter, I just didn't want you to feel left out." She took me to the cafeteria.
"Eliza, this is Ashley."
"Hi, nice to meet you, I'm Ashley."
"Hi, I'm Eliza." I say with confident this time. Ashley, brown hair, hazel eyes, and oddly she kind of has a banana face. After awhile I saw that guy from history and asked Cailey what his name was.
"Oh, him. That's Collin. He's never dated anyone but I think he's totally gorgeous. I guess no one is good enough for him."
"Oh." I say disappointed.
"Oh, you don't like him do you?"
"Um well he's kind of cute."
"Honestly, he's kind of quiet, and his family owns this huge house a little outside of town." Ashley says.
After lunch, Cailey realizes that she has every class except biology with me. The rest of the day went pretty smoothly. Collin has 3 classes with me. Well, this is going to be one hell of a year.
