This week went by pretty smoothly. No one died. No newbie vampire. Nothing. It's Sunday and Cailey, Collin, Morgan and I were all planning to go to Collins house to try to get Ashley to turn her emotions on. So far, she's been in Collin's extra room in his huge house with cement walls and a window in the left corner. We've been giving her only a few drops of blood a day to make her weak. We go into the room, without Cailey. She refused to see her. Ashley looks miserable. Pale face and dry lips. She looks close to dead. When she sees me with the small cup of blood. Her body shifts and she inhales strongly. I look at the cup teasingly. "Oh, um, do you... want... this?" She gives me a stern look.
"Go to hell." She replies.
"Okay, Ashley, we can do this the hard way, or my way." Collin says. "You choose." He goes to the window, and grips onto the curtain. Ashley chuckles. "If you insist." Collin says and pulls the curtain slow enough to where the sun creeps up her body. She starts morning in pain. "Okay!" She yells. He shuts the curtain and gives her time to heal.
"Now." Collin says. "Tell me. What makes you hate your life so much enough to turn off your emotions? Hmm? What's so bad that you made yourself loose every feeling?"
"What do you mean? Cailey and Eliza hate me by now. I don't give a damn about you or Morgan. What do I have to care for?" Ashley says. "I don't have a-a loving boyfriend or amazing parents." At this moment I think about what she said. She doesn't think we care about her. That's it. That's what's going on.
"Ashley. We care about you. You are our best friend and seeing you like this kills us. I mean for gods sake, Cailey is outside because she can't stand to see what you've done to yourself. In fact, why don't we bring her in. Cailey? Come here." I yell. Cailey walks in with her head down and slowly lifts it up to see Ashley. She gasps and says, "oh my god." I grab Cailey by the neck and pull her closer. Ashley didn't show any sympathy, but I knew deep down she felt it. "Actually", I said. "I'm feeling kind of hungry." Her eyes widen. I grab onto Cailey and push my teeth into her neck. "No!" Ashley yells. After I have drained Cailey of blood, Ashley weeps. I throw her down on the floor and Collin bends down to look at her. "Ashley?" He says.
"Oh my god. What did you do? How could you do this?" She sobs.
"There it is. Look. You're crying. That's sadness. Your feelings are back. Cailey isn't dead. We got a witch to put a protection spell on her body. She'll wake up soon." I saw the relief in Ashley. She was back.
