We searched for Ashley as a group. No luck. We're going tomorrow to search for her again alone. Collin is coming hopefully, I'm going to go over to his house to talk to him about things. ~
I go to his house and knock on the door. When I knock it opens.
"Collin?" I yell. I hear an echo back. Shows how big his house is.
"Is anyone ho-?" I stop. I see a woman. Brown hair, blue eyes, pink highlights and she's in a towel...
"Oh, um..." I look away.
"Hi. I'm Morgan. I don't believe we've met." She says.
"Eliza." I respond. Still looking away. "Is Collin home?"
"Um, no-"
"Eliza?" Collin comes around the corner. "Morgan, go get dressed."
"Whatever." She says.
"Who is that?" I ask Collin.
He sighs. "My sister." He says.
"Is she a-?" I ask slowly.
"Yes." He responds. "She just showed up the other day. She owns the house with with me, so I can't just make her leave."
"Oh, ok." I say. "So, Cailey and I are going to search for Ashley alone tomorrow. Do you want to come?"
"Uh, yeah sure. Hey, about last night. I hope you didn't run away because of me."
"No, I didn't, I had the search party like I said. I had fun."
I leaned in and kiss him. His lips. So soft and sweet. When I kiss him my mind goes to a completely different world. ~
Later that day, I went home and put on jeans, tennis shoes, grabbed a flashlight, and put my hair in a ponytail. We were all meeting at the town square. When I got there Collin was already there and right beside him was Morgan. I didn't even know she was coming. I parked and got out.
"I'm sorry, she over heard us, and said she was coming." Collin pleaded. She looked at me with this face like it was a competition. Geez. When Cailey got there we headed out. ~
Now it was 7:01, we have been searching for about an hour, and about to stop because it was getting dark. Then Cailey screamed. Collin and I looked at each other and ran to Cailey. Right by her was Ashley laying on the ground, looking dead but I couldn't tell. I went up to her and put my ear up to her mouth. About 3 seconds later before I knew what was going on, I was struck with excruciating pain. I tried screaming but nothing came out. I could feel blood running down my neck. I heard blurred sounds yelling and crying. Then it stopped. I was now being held by the arm. I finally could make out some words.
"Ashley, let her go." Collin said furiously.
"Oh don't worry. I was just hungry." Alive Ashley said. So she was alive. A rush of relieve ran through me along with confusion, anger, and hurt.
Then I saw Ashley bite her wrist and put it up to my mouth.
"Drink!" She said. "It'll heal you." After I drank a little from her I pushed her away. She looked at me. "Better be careful next time." We shared a look.
Cailey's p.o.v
Ashley is alive! I can't believe it. Only one problem. She had fangs! She bit Eliza at the neck! What is going on. Ashley just gave her blood to Eliza. What the hell! Then out of no where, bam. Ashley snapped Eliza's neck!
"No!" I screamed and sobbed.
"No!" Collin screamed next. Morgan was just standing there with a smirk on her face. She knew what was going on. Collin ran fast over to Ashley. Fast. Faster than a normal human. He snapped her neck.
"What the hell?" I yelled. "Why did you do that?" I was balling.
"Don't worry, she'll come back." He said. Get Eliza, I'll get Ashley, take them to my truck. I did as he told. He told us to meet him at his house. I followed him. ~
Eliza's p.o.v
I wake up. I don't remember falling asleep. I can hear wind blowing, dogs barking, the stutter of electricity, water running. My neck and head hurt like hell. I slowly open my eyes and turn my neck. "Damn!" I yell, at the feeling of my neck.
"Hey, hey. Easy." Collin says and sits me up. It was just me, Morgan, and Collin. No Cailey or Ashley.
"Where's Cailey? And Ashley?"
I told Cailey to go home. Ashley is locked in the basement."
"What?!"
"She tried to kill you, she'll do it again. And Cailey." He looked at Morgan.
"What?" I yell.
"Oh my god." Morgan says annoyed. "You're transitioning." She says.
"What do you mean?" I ask getting worried.
"She means, that when Ashley snapped your neck, you died with vampire blood in your system." He says that last part sadly.
"No." I say.
"Look, I'm so-"
"No!" I yell. "This can't happen. I haven't finished high school yet! I can't be a.. a" I say. "There's only one way to find out." I go to the curtains, which are now shut. I remember Collin telling me he wears a daylight necklace to keep him from burning in the sun. I open the blind just a crack. Then it hits me. I could hear a sizzle, my skin was burning fast.
"Ow!" I yell. I look down at my arm, no red mark. I look confused.
"You healed idiot." Morgan says. "Welcome to the world of the undead." She rolls her eyes.
