It's my 7th day at my new school. Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day, we haven't had a sunny day the whole time I've been here. Weird thing is though, Collin wasn't here today. Cailey and I went outside for free period and that's when I noticed the absence of Collin.
"So, have you seen Collin today?" I say mysteriously.
"No, but he doesn't come on sunny days. I don't know why, but it seems like every time we have nice days he's gone."
"That's.. Weird.. I guess."
The next day in Biology was a really shitty day outside and Collin was there. We were dissecting a frog, and in the middle of doing this, a girl cut her finger with a scalpel and starting bleeding.
"Crap."
"Is everything okay, Ms. Anderson?" Mr. Boggs asked.
"I'm bleeding. Can I go to the bathroom?"
Before the teacher can say yes, Collin rushes out of the room, slamming the door open.
"Hmm, I guess he gets squeamish around blood."
Doesn't sound very convincing.
The rest of the day went by slowly. The next day at school I saw Collin again.
"Hey, what happened in biology yesterday?" I asked Collin.
"Um, just get a little woozy around blood. You know what I mean..?"
"Yeah, totally." I said looking into his dreamy golden eyes. Later that day in gym, we had to take an upper body test. We had to do rope climbs. We did it one at a time. A couple people went up before me. Some of them were kind of slow while others were about average. Then Collin was up next. He went up to the rope. Put his hands in the chalk, and raced up the rope. Within 15 seconds, he had made it to the top and back. The classmates and teachers stared at him in awe.
"Well ladies and gentlemen, I believe we have a new record. Give it up for Collin Gill!"
There was dead silence.
"Ok, so, um, who's next?" The coach asked.
That night after I got home, I decided to go get dinner with Cailey. It was already dark outside. I decided to walk because it was only a couple blocks away. On my way there, I saw Collin walking into a forest. Who goes into the forest this late? I contemplated whether or not to follow him. No, you shouldn't. I thought to myself. All throughout dinner I couldn't stop thinking about Collin.
"Eliza. Eliza. Eliza!" Cailey says annoyed.
"What. Oh, um I'm sorry." I say coming out of my day dream. "I think I need to go get some sleep."
"Okay." She says irritated.
"See you tomorrow."
I rush home and take a shower and hop onto my computer and do some research.
Golden eyes. Blood. Pale. Dark. Supernatural. Blood suckers. Demon. It all comes down to one word. Vampire.
