"Really?" he answers me, his tone judging.  "That's the best you can come up with?  When I told you to come up with a name yourself, I thought you would come up with something at least somewhat interesting."

"What are you doing here?" I ignore his remark.  I should have expected him to be here, since I saw him in my vision.  I guess I forgot about that fact that he would be here too.  I'm still trying to wrap my head around the whole seeing the future thing.

"I could ask you the same question."

"Just answer the question." I roll my eyes.  I'm tired from work today and my headache from earlier.  I was planning on spending the night watching some Netflix and hanging out with Lexi, but now I'm stuck saving a girl who might not even be kidnapped yet with some kind of hero that gets joy from pissing me off.

"Just being a good citizen."  he answers, mysteriously. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm here on a hunch." I say, not wanting to tell him about my vision.  I sounds insane even to me, so I doubt he'll believe it.  But how did he know to come here?  I'm assuming he doesn't get whatever I experienced earlier.

"Well, I guess we're stuck investigating together then, aren't we?"  he says smirking.

"Joy."  I say, sarcastically.  I approach one of the windows to the warehouse and peek inside, trying to be discreet.  Looking inside, I knew that I was in the right place.  It's a similar scene to the one from my vision, except without me and Superman.  There are five guys in ski masks sitting at a table and across the warehouse from them, the girl that I had seen.  This is starting to freak me out.  I saw this before it actually happened.

"Do you want to do the same thing as the hospital?"  I forgot about Superman behind me.

"Do you think that will work this time?  There's five guys instead of three, and last time I almost got shot."

"There's also just one hostage for to save instead of fifteen."  I'm starting to get kind of irritated.  It's starting to feel like he gets to do all the saving while I just get to throw fire at people.  I've never been in this for the glory, but the feeling that I'm actually helping people has kept me going and he's taking that away from me.  Unfortunately, though, I realize that his plan would be what's best for the girl.

"Fine." I sigh.  I open the door to the warehouse, almost fearful.  I can't fight the feeling like something bad is going to happen.  Superman speeds in and I'm throwing fire towards the table where the men are sitting.

"What the hell?" I hear one of them swear.  They all take out their guns.  At the same time, Superman reaches the girl and they're both gone in a flash.  I'm left alone with the men, and I search for cover.  They start to shoot at me, but I run behind a rusted piece of machinery five feet away from me.  I peek over it and attempt to throw more fire at one of the men, but he dodges it.

I'm gonna get shot  I think.  But I can't start to panic now.  I know that have have to somehow disarm them.  One of them raises their gun at me, and I throw fire at his hand.  He drops his gun.  One down, four to go.  What's taking Superman so long?  Maybe I need to get them to run out of ammo.  I peek my head over the machine so that they could see me.

"Hey!" I say in a flirty tone, smirking.  They immediately begin to shoot at me, but I quickly duck down before any bullets can hit me.  Suddenly, I hear them swearing in disbelief.  I look up and see Superman standing near them with the rest of their guns in his hands.  He had disarmed them.  I come out from my hiding place.  "Look who decided to show up."

"Sorry that I was rescuing a civilian in need of assistance." he answers sarcastically.  We start to fight the men.  Two of them go for him, and the rest start fighting me.  I form fireballs in my hands and threw one at two of the men.  One dodges it, but the other is hit in the chest.  He falls to the ground and doesn't move.  At first, I'm scared I killed him, but then I see his chest rise and fall and I'm relieved.  While I'm checking to make sure he's alive, I'm tackled to the floor.  The man starts punching me, but I warm my hands up not so much that they're on fire, but that they're extremely hot.  I reach and grasp his face, burning him.  He curses and while he's distracted, I kick him off of me.  I get off the ground and suddenly an arm wraps around my waist, keeping me from getting away, and I feel a sharp prick in my neck.  I had been injected with something.  I don't have time to wonder what it was before I collapse to the ground, screaming in pain.  I feel like my entire body is on fire.  Tears are coming from my eyes and I can't even function enough to defend myself.

"Ember?" Superman calls from where he's fighting the other men.  I can vaguely make out him trying to come to my defense when I feel a sharp pain in my abdomen.  One of the men had somehow gotten there gun back and I had been shot.  My eyes start to feel tired, and I know that I'm going to pass out from either pain or blood loss.  I suddenly feel somebody pick me up and look up to see that it's Superman.  His eyes were filled with concern and worry.

     "Superman?" I whisper weakly.

     "Stay with me Ember."

"M' tired..." I mumble.  "It hurts."

"I know." his voice is weirdly gentle.  "But you have to stay awake."

That's the last thing I hear before I pass out.
