Alex brings me back to my room after he reveals what I'm really kept here for.  I sit on the mattress, terrified.  I can't let him do that to me.  But if I try to escape, he could kill Emmett.  He could also kill him anyways if he does use the mind-control thing on me.

Mind-control.  The whole idea is ridiculous.

These past few days have been insane.  I have a vision seeing that my dead ex-boyfriend is alive, then get attacked by him.  Then, my friend gets stabbed trying to stop said ex-boyfriend.  I get my powers back and my friend kisses me.  We get shot at and I go with ex-boyfriend for friend's safety.  Ex-boyfriend tells me that the people who I thought were my parents weren't really my parents and my birth mother didn't give a shit about me.  Now ex-boyfriend is planning on using some sort of mind-control on me.

I sigh.  What do I even do?  How would I even escape?  I walk over to the door to see if there's any way out.  There's not even a doorknob on my side of the door, so I don't even have a lock to pick or anything.  I try to use my powers, but it's useless because of the cold.  I'm stuck in here. Having nothing to do, I decide to go back to sleep.

I woken up by somebody shaking me, but I can tell it's not Alex because of how gentle they are.  I open my eyes and shrink into the corner in fear still, looking at them.  There's a guy crouched in front of me with reddish- blondish hair and blue eyes.  He staring at me with concern on his face.

"Who the hell are you?" I ask, scared.

"I'm not here to hurt you."  He says this gently and raises his hands into the air to show me he means no harm.  "I'm gonna get you out of here."

     "Why?"

"Does it matter?" he answers.  "My name's Connor."

"How do you plan on getting out of here?"

"I have a plan.  Just come with me."  I hesitate.  What if this is somehow one of Alex's tricks?  If he finds out what I'm doing, he could hurt Emmett.

"I can't."  I say.  "He said he'll hurt my friend."  Was Emmett even considered just a friend anymore?  We didn't exactly have time to discuss it.

"It'll be okay." Connor says.  "Just trust me."  I sigh.  I trust him for some reason, and it scares me.

"Okay."  We both get up.  "What's the plan?"

"Just follow me."  I listen and we exit the room into the hallway. I look up in down the hallway to make sure nobody's there, and they aren't.  We take a right, but then we here footsteps behind us.

"Hey!" A man calls out.  "They got out!"  They?  Apparently Connor was being held here too before he came for me.  We turn around and see three men in black uniforms had turned the corner.  Connor pushes me behind him protectively.  He holds one of his hands in front of his and flicks his wrist to the left.  One of the men is thrown against the wall to his left and I gasp.  Connor has powers too?  I'm not the only one who was experimented on.  Another one of the men picks up his gun and shoots.  The bullet is about to hit me but it stops midair and falls to the ground.

"Oh my god." I whisper.  "That's so cool!"   Connor just grins at me, then tackles the man who had shot at me.  Suddenly, the third man is coming towards me.  I take a few steps back in fear, trying to use my powers.  Unfortunately, this entire place is freezing, disabling my powers.  I raise my hands in front of my face, trying to shoot fire at him, but all I can manage is a few sparks.  "Connor!" I yell.  "Little help?"

"Kinda busy right now!"  I see him on the ground struggle with the other man.  I raise my fists in front of my face, struggling to remember everything Emmett taught me about fighting.  When the man is close enough, I attempt to punch him in the stomach.  Before I can, however, he grabs my wrist and twists it, hard.  I cry out in pain.  "Amy?!" I hear Connor yell, concerned.  How does he know my name?  I don't have time to answer, because I'm thrown to the ground and the man is on top of me with his hands around my neck.  I try to pry them from the neck, but it's no use. The edges of my vision start to blacken and I'm about to pass out from lack of oxygen.  Then, the weight on top of me is gone and I'm left coughing and gasping.  I'm vaguely aware of a sickening crack and then the sound of running towards me.  "God, are you okay?"  I open my eyes and see Connor crouched in front of me.  I shakily give him two thumbs up, still trying to catch my breath.  I stand up unsteadily and see the man who had been strangling me laying on the ground, not moving.  His eyes are wide open and his neck is twisted at an awkward angle.  My eyes widen when I realize that he's dead.  I gasp.  Connor steps in front of me, blocking my view of the body.  He puts his hands gently on my shoulders and turns me around so that I won't look at it.  "Let's go." he says softly, walking ahead of me.

I walk behind him, silently both because of shock and so that we won't be caught again.  He stops outside a room and and punches some number into a keypad.  The door opens and we step inside.  There's nobody inside, thankfully. Instead, it's what look like some sort of lab.  I realize that this is probably where the serum that took my powers away was made.  "What are we doing here?" I ask.

"We have to destroy this lab."  He answers.  "Set it on fire."

"Won't that be a bit obvious?" I says, trying to avoid telling him my powers aren't working at the moment.  I don't bother to ask how he knows about my powers, since he seems to know who I am even though I know nothing about him except his name.

"I think that the bodies in the hallways will already tell them what we're up to."

"My powers aren't working right now because of the cold." I admit quietly, looking down.

"Well that's just wonderful." Connor says.

"Sorry." I say, cringing at his harsh tone.

"It's fine it's not your fault."  He runs his hand through his hair, looking frustrated.  Then the door behind me opens, and I'm grabbed from behind.  I scream, and I feel the cool barrel of a gun on the back of my head.  Connor looks ready to fight, but then then I hear the gun click.

"Don't move or I shoot her." A voice says and I realize that it's Alex.  "You know, Amy, I thought we came to an agreement."  I don't say anything, out of fear.  "Now I might just kill your boyfriend."

"No!" I cry out.  "Don't touch him!"

"Or, I might just have you kill him.  More creative."  Alex taunts me.  "I see you met your brother."

"What?" I ask dumbly, not understanding.  He laughs, and Connor's looking down awkwardly.

"You didn't didn't tell her?" Alex says to him.  "Amy, he's your brother.  Actually, he's your twin."
