"Scarlet I'm sorry" Mason said for the tenth time.

"Mason we cannot be together. I want a normal life. It's not about you anymore it's about me" I said folding my arms.

We were in his condo. They had locked Jade in one of the rooms to keep her close until we could break the spell.

"Listen, I don't want to lose you" he pleaded.

"I slept with someone else!" I burst out.

"I know " he said softly.

"You what?!" I asked.

"I followed you" he said.

"This is why I need to get away from you" I said.

"Hold it." He said. "Do you love this guy?"

"Oh my God Mason it's none of your business " I said sighing.

"I understand " he said. "We might have to kill Carlos to get you free "

"You cannot do that" I said.

"I have to" he said. "It's the only way to keep you safe."

"I'm tired of all this" I said.

"Just like you're tired of me?" He asked.

"Are you trying to make me feel guilty here?" I asked narrowing my eyes. "Leave me be. And stop pretending as if you have not done worse to me"

"I don't want to fight with you" he said walking away.

"Whatever!" I said slumping in my seat.

"Forgive him. He's having a tough time " Francesca said.

"I know" I said "So am I"

Later that day, I went out with Connor to the park. We had a nice time sitting on the freshly mowed grass. The smell of spring in the air.

"You look as beautiful as always" he said.

"I like it when people say that instead of saying you look beautiful today" I said smiling.

"Why?" He asked laughing.

"Because, it's like they're saying you are looking good only today" I said laying down on my back and staring at the blue sky.

"Well then you look good everyday " he said kissing me.

"Thank you. You're not so bad yourself " I said laughing.

"I appreciate that". He laughed.

"Ow!" I said sitting up.

There was a sharp pain creeping up my spine.

"Oh my God it hurts" I said through gritted teeth.

"What's wrong" he asked.

"There's something wrong with Jade" I said getting up and running out of the park. I had to find Mason.

"Scarlet!" Connor screamed after me.

"I'll be fine" I lied. The pain was growing. I started to feel lightheaded. My legs ached.

"Scarlet you're bleeding " he screamed catching me before I fell.

The world was spinning. A huge wound opened up on my thigh and dark warm blood flowed out of it.

"What's happening to you?" He asked.

"Jade" was all I could say before the world went dark.
