Truth

  Silent tears fell from my eyes as my sister told her story. She had been raped. Countless times by her own father. Her own flesh and blood. Someone who was supposed to protect her from things like that. It hurt me so much that everyday of her life she had to live with such awful memories and I had no idea.

"I'm sorry....I couldn't tell you" Francesca said weeping bitterly. "It was just too much "

"I hope you're happy now Jade. You are such a fucking bitch" Scarlet said shaking her head.

"It needed to be said" Jade said simply, tucking her dark hair behind her ears.

"It's okay Fran. I understand. I just wish you hadn't erased my memory." I said.

"I didn't want you to remember the gruesome sight of mum's body torn to pieces" Francesca said wiping her tears with the back of her hand.

"I want to remember " I said.

"Are you sure?" She asked.

"I grew up resenting my mother. I forgot everything about her. I want to know her" I said.

"Okay" Francesca said smiling through her tears. "Close your eyes"

I shut my eyelids as Francesca placed her small hands on the sides of my face. 

       Almost immediately, flashes of a woman with piercing green eyes and flawless strawberry blonde hair came to me. She was smiling. Her lips coated with dark red lipstick. She looked like Fran. Only older. Her smile warmed my heart. I felt like I knew her. She was saying something. I couldn't hear her. She laughed loudly for no reason. She wore a dark green silk dress that swept the floor. Her hair had a red hibiscus in it. Suddenly I was thrown into a house. A dark house. It felt cold and scary. Doors slammed everywhere. The woman wasn't there anymore. Fran was lying on the ground calling out something. She was half naked. It sounded like she was calling for her mother.  Carson lay on the floor beside her calling out too. Fran was gone on the blink of an eye. My legs began moving on their own. Up the cold marble stairs. My father's huge back was facing me. He said something to Fran and went into a room. When he moved, my heart literally dropped to my toes. Never had I seen anything as horrible as what lay before me.
  The beautiful smiling lady was now in pieces right before my eyes. Her had lying almost ten feet away from her body. Her head severed off. There was so much blood. Fran lay there screaming out to God to help her. Then the memories stopped. And I opened my eyes.

     I hadn't realized that I had been crying.

"She was so beautiful " was all I managed to say.

"I know" Francesca said smiling as more tears fell from her eyes.

"That wasn't supposed to bring you closer to each other!" Jade said groaning in anger.

" You actually helped us" I said with all the hate I could muster.

"No more secrets" Francesca said.

"No more" I said.

"No more?" Jade asked laughing. "Did you tell your sister and your girlfriend that we had sex?"

"What?!" Scarlet asked jumping up.

"He and I had sexual intercourse dumb ass" Jade said laughing. " Your boy really knows how to meet a girls needs".

"Scarlet I was under a spell" he said.

"I...I really cannot do this anymore " she said looking at me.

"I'm sorry" I said pleadingly.

"I have a life too okay?" Scarlet said. " I have a test tomorrow I need to study for so call me when you break the damn spell."
