Have a character find/buy an animal and name them after something Disney

When Piper wakes with a cold that following Monday, she wishes she'd have brought an umbrella with her. But, of course she hasn't and- now- she's paying for it. She wakes with a heavy head and a bed covered in tissues. Oh and, to make matters even worse, Jonah, Molly and some sort of box are sat on her carpet.

Not her finest moment, she realises.

She manages a weak and sniffled "Hi" in their direction, wishing she'd done something to make herself look less....dead.

"Good morning-" Jonah coos (even though it's like 12 in the afternoon, so, hardly morning at all). She raises an eyebrow at him, "Your Mum called to tell me you weren't coming...we thought we'd come to you."

If Piper wasn't already red in the face, she most definitely is now (why did he have such an effect on her).

"We got a puppy!"

Piper shoots up, a little too quickly, the brass band starts pounding in her head.

She decides not to do that. Ever again.

Jonah scoffs in his sister's direction, "Molly wasn't supposed to tell you about the puppy so soon..." He insists, then he looks at Molly with a hint of annoyance (he'd never lose his cool with her though, he loved her more than anything) "It was supposed to be a surprise."

"Sorry..." Molly whispers, her little cheeks pink. "But at least you're letting her name him..."

"Molly!"

"Sorry"

Piper laughs, unaware that this would send her into full on coughing fit mode.

When she eventually stops coughing and composes herself, Piper's eyes move towards the box.

But she doesn't care about the box but what is inside the box.

The aforementioned puppy tumbles clumsily out of the box, revealing it's huge eyes and small body.

"Simba!" Piper shouts, nearly falling out of bed due to the loudness of her own voice.

"What?"

The fact that the pug is now nestled in Jonah's arms makes the situation at least 99.9% more adorable.

"I want to call him Simba."

"Like, "Lion King" Simba?"

"Exactly that."

Jonah looks down at the now sleeping pug puppy in his arms. "Simba, eh?" He whispers. "I like it."

Piper smiles a little, "Me too."

Hmm...her and Jonah finally agree on something? How sick is she?

-----------------------------------------------------------

By 4:30, Piper seems as good as new (you know, minus the fact that she hasn't brushed her hair, changed out of her pyjamas or showered yet).

Jonah thinks it's safe to sit on her bed, the dog still on his lap. He tries not to notice the slight stench of the girl at his side, or maybe that is the dog?

He's not so sure.

Trying not to focus on the scent, he focuses on the girl at his side. He takes in her appearance: the brown hair (the kind that probably looks good without doing a thing to it), brown eyes (the kind that look like they're sparkling in the light, ever so slightly), small smile, the cute nose. There is no denying that she's pretty, even in her mismatched pyjamas and recovering from a cold.

(Surely that isn't fair, right?)

"I really appreciate it, you know," He says, trying to move his attention away from her. "What you've done for us both.." Oh God, he is being soppy. What has gotten into him?

Piper scoffs "Babysitting is just a job I do on the side- it's no big deal." If there's one thing about Piper, it was that she never saw herself as a big deal. She was just Piper, nothing more nothing less.

Not to Jonah, though...

"Molly thinks it's a big deal," He discloses, a small smile on his boyish face. Piper blinks, for the first time he looks like a boy. "She hasn't stopped talking about you since you first walked through the door.."

The girl shrugs in response. "And I think you're a big deal, too."

Wow. Jonah actually just said something nice? Was Piper's cold worse than she thought? Had it started to affect her head?

She hopes, or rather begins to believe, that this is the case.

Especially when he leans in to kiss her.

Is that really about to happen?

Piper becomes sure that is it most definitely "about to happen" when she sees his lips inches away from hers.

God, Piper thinks, I should have moisturized my lips.

She hopes she isn't going to sneeze. That'd be just her luck.

Piper wonders if the boy beside her can hear her heartbeat as much as she can.

Piper hadn't picture her first kiss like this, not at all.

But, maybe, this is it. Her first kiss.

With Jonah.

He looks at her, his eyes almost saying "You ready?".

She nods.

This is the moment they talk about in books, they recreate in movies, this was her moment.

If she moves one way, she'd headbutt him. If she moves one way, she'll headbutt the wall.

To avoid head trauma of any kind, she proceeds.

She braces herself, closing her eyes, she can practically feel his lips brush against hers.

This is it, she thinks.

Or at least it was until Simba had weed all over him.

Whilst Jonah scolds the adorable, but slightly annoying puppy on his lap, Piper sits and thinks for a moment.

Did she look too eager? Did she even want to kiss him? Did it matter if she did?

There is one thing she knew at least, now most definitely is not the time to kiss.

A/N: This chapter was  a lot shorter than I had imagined...oh well.

So Jonah and Molly have a new family member: Simba the pug.

My brother and his wife have a pug so that's what inspired my choice of dog breed (his name is Gus and he is SO cute).

Can you believe there was an almost kiss?

God, why did I do that?

What did you think of this chapter?

That was a lot of questions at once, I'm sorry.

^Above is a picture of a pug puppy, how cute?

Anyway, Chapter Twelve is done!
