Mickey Mouse randomly appears. How and why?
When Piper wakes up the next morning, suddenly not needing her alarm, she nearly has a heart attack. (Well, she doesn't literally have one, it just feels like she's having one).
There's a huge Mickey Mouse in her room, sat there, staring right into her eyes.
So now, she's doing the breathing exercises her primary school drama teacher had once taught her (In. Out. In. Out. Count to five. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5), trying not to a) actually have a heart attack or b) spontaneously combust with excitement and general Disney fangirl feelings.
(She doesn't do either of these when she's successfully composed herself, no longer a sweating wreck).
Instead, she trails over towards the Mickey Mouse toy and spots a note.
Dear Piper, she reads:
Dear Piper,
I did not take your book.
And I most definitely did not enjoy it.
Jonah
P.S. It's opposite day
Piper cringes as she puts the note in her memory box, wondering how he managed to smuggle the Mickey Mouse inside her house, realising how much of a child Jonah actually was.
She realises, with a pang of embarrassment, that Jonah is- and probably has been for longer than Piper had realised- stood behind her.
"Oh Jonah..." She drawls, suddenly wrapping her arms around him in a hug.
The boy's eyes light up as he hugs her back. "You like it?" He asks, suddenly smiling like the Cheshire Cat.
"I love it!"
Suddenly, Piper realises how close their lips are to each other's. She can practically imagine how they feel, how they would feel brushed up against hers....
Jonah places the book in her direction, tarnishing any possible chance of an almost kiss (not that Piper wants one...not at all), and Piper makes the situation even more unbearable for herself.
She grabs Jonah's hand instead of the book.
The book, rather annoyingly, tumbles to the floor.
Both of them reach to grab it, resulting in the incredibly embarrassing (and totally cliche) situation in which neither individual in the situation a) wants to go ahead and grab whatever has been dropped on the floor and b) knows whether the other person is going to reach for said item (either of which could result in head trauma, which Piper has had her fair share of these past few weeks).
Of course, the awkward dilemma is solved when Molly (who, again, Piper didn't notice had even come into the room) grabs the book, handing it back to Piper.
She snatches it from Molly, regretting her horrible action almost immediately, as she attempts to hide her shame.
"You two should just get it over with and kiss, you know," Molly says, turning towards the door.
Piper and Jonah exchange the same look of half amusement half horror (and 100% consideration of her idea) as Molly exits but, just as they move towards each other, Molly's voice echoes "I've put another DVD on downstairs, feel free to join me."
The two of them make a break towards the door, surprised (and perhaps a little annoyed) at the other's haste to move.
But Molly's insistence on watching a movie is actually a blessing because, right now, Piper feels like she won't be able to speak coherently.
How- or more importantly why- did she feel like this?
Maybe she's hungry, she put it down to that. When her stomach grumbles (far too loudly, by the way), she realises that this is probably it.
Definitely not anything else...
Not at all.

A/N: Short chapter again oops...
We did Secret Santa in school today and it was lovely. I got a selection box, a book and a fancy set. I feel so Christmassy....OH MY GOSH!
Only one more day and then I'm off school for Christmas, which means lots of fun, getting fat and UPDATES, UPDATES, UPDATES!
So, you know, watch this space.
Hope you liked this chapter!
^Above is a picture of a HUGEEEE Mickey Mouse teddy, which I imagine would be the size of the one that Jonah gets Piper (HOW NICE WAS THAT BY THE WAY?)
It's not good that I am extremely jealous of my own characters...oh well.
Trust Molly to say that, eh?
