The stack of papers and books the young man had been holding went flying everywhere. One particularly thick tome landed on his head, which resounded in a solid "Ow!"
He eventually opened his eyes, and was astounded to see a woman on top of him. Sitting up and pushing Nightingale of his chest, he said "Are you alright, miss.... umm?" a confused look glazed his eyes. His like Risa's had draconic slits, but the color was more that of a warm campfire. orange red with yellow hues. They contained a natural curiosity, which was peaked by the rather beautiful woman he had just crashed into. Before continuing to speak, he brushed his blond hair out of his eyes. The long bangs immediately falling right back where they were before his hand had grazed them.
"I'm Gideon." He stated, coming to a kneel and beginning o pick up his belongings and papers. His eyes never left Nightingale's swirling purple ones. "Who are you? And...." His curious eyes looked to the air around her, "Why don't you have an aura?"
Nightingale rolled off Gideon with a shocked expression. "I'm sorry!" She gasped at first, coming to lay on her legs and holding her chest up with her arms. The action pressed her bosom into an even more favorable position. "I didn't see you till I turned and crashed. I'm really sorry." She breathed, her cheeks flushing a deep red and her dark purple eyes sparkling with a tempting shine.
"I... Me? Oh, " She shook her head and looked away. "I'm just... A little tag along of Lady Risa's. That's all." she mumbled, pushing herself to her knees and moving to collect papers with him. "I'm really sorry about knocking you over." She repeated, sitting up with a stack of loose papers in her hands. She wanted to avoid the subject of her aura, but also dive right into it. She loved toying with men. If this was even considered 'toying'.
"I'm Nightingale... By the way." She muttered, her amethyst eyes blinking appealingly at Gideon.
"Uh... Um." Gideon flushed. A bright red colored his pale cheeks. He shook his head, as if to clear it. Gideon took the papers from Nightingale, and smiled warmly. "Oh, that's nothing. Why were you in such a rush? Are you staying with Lady Risa?" Gideon stood up and held out his hand to her. "Nice to meet you, Nightingale. You have a lovely name. Now, about your Aura?"
Nightingale flashed a frown over her face before standing full and sweeping her long black cape behind her legs. "Yes, I am staying with the woman." She said, trying to keep her tone gentle and not so harsh. Men can be so tricky.
"I work in many places, with many people, and have been for a long time. My aura is always concealed because I've worked with good and bad people that can see my aura if not hidden. You, the dragons here, seem like a lovely people. I am cautious though, " She spoke slowly as her monologue continued, "And therefore will not reveal my identity till I feel absolutely safe amongst you." She raised her chin lightly, managing to look as if her amethyst eyes were piercing through the young-looking fellow. "Is that the explanation you were looking for?" She asked, lowering her chin and softening her gaze. "I mean not to distress you."
"Oh, No, sorry didn't mean to press!" Gideon chuckled a little. He pushed his hair back again, only to have it flop back into place once more. "I'm not distressed. Maybe a tiny bit over stressed, but you know. And anyway, you've got nothing to fear from those in this temple. If the goddess lets you in, It doesn't matter who you are." He shrugged his shoulders and offered Nightingale another bright smile, and stared right into her swirling eyes.
Nightingale's piercing eyes only intrigued Gideon, and he wasn't quite as threatened as he should have been. Her eyes were the next thing he mentioned. "You've got such lovely purple eyes. You must know some form of magic for them to swirl like that!"
Just as Nightingale was about to speak, however, Risa suddenly appeared next to Gideon. "I see you've met my apprentice, Nightingale." Her honey eyes were filled with a light humor. "What had I said before about those who feel captured?" Gideon whirled around and bowed his head to Risa. "Sorry, Lady Risa. We bumped into each other while I was on the way to the Library." She nodded her head. "Quite alright, Perhaps Nightingale would like to accompany us there? Then we were headed out to town."
