In a flash, faster than Night had been in front of 'Vlademir' A giant hissing snake was wrapped around Nightingale in a protective circle. 'What did he do? I swear I'll kill him.' Gideons frosty thoughts projected into the air. "Where did you go, Paladin? Come faces the beasssst you've angered!" He Hissed aloud. It was rough, and dark. Gideon saw Night's aura swirling around her, that was dangerous.
Thoren was the first to point it out. "Night," he said softly, approaching Gideon and her slowly. "Why did your aura blast out like that? Did that man do something to it?"
Gideon still had not returned to a human shape, nor uncoiled himself from Night. 'Are you hurt?' He thought at her, trying his best to calm down. hiding the next thought from everyone but Night, Gideon said ,'Daemion warned me angels followed him, and that they might try to hurt you.'
"I'm not hurt! I'm not hurt!" Nightingale said, tensing and clinging to his Serpentine body. "But I can't get my aura to go away. Every time I try I get a fuzz head-ache." She said, tucking her face against his scales and whimpering. "It hurts now. I can't make it go away." She whimpered, her wings tucking tightly to herself.
"Oh, no.. no, no, no." Thoren groaned. David came over and began to circle Night and Gideon, who was now only slightly dragon-esc. Feathery hair, and scaly faced. His arms still protectively encircling Night. "Don't try to, love. Don't give yourself a headache." Gideon told her softly.
"Looks like an Aura lock." David said definitively. "Whats-his-fuck placed an Aura locking curse on you. You have no influence on your aura. You can neither expand or contract it beyond the level it is." Thoren looked to him and nodded. "This mean's we'll have to fly as dragons. Larger beasts, larger auras." Thoren continued for David. "Night, You'll have to hitch a ride. The three of us should be able to Hide your aura in the air, but We'll have to hide out as humans."
Nightingale whimpered and nodded. "I know who Vlademir is..." She said quietly, still clinging to Gideon. 'I'll ride with you?' she told him mentally. "He's a half-angel... He's... I... He's been hunting me and my father since before I died..." she said, tucking her face into Gideon's shoulder. "I just... I never thought I'd see him again. I thought I had killed him..." She muttered, her wings shaking and contracting into her back.
'Of course, love' Gideon replied. "If he didn't die the first time, he'll die a second if he tries anything more harmful. Do you know which God he serves? If we could find the authority of his religion here, and convince them to protect you...." Gideon trailed off. That would have to be a later plan. Something that took to much time to handle immediately. "We can't go to my parents now. My father is in charge of the entire royal guard, he'd arrest us all on sight, and we won't get the chance to explain. We still need to travel to Aria though. A portal here now is too risky...."
Thoren, David, and Gideon became large draconic creatures once more, and Gideon bowed his head down to a level Night could climb up on. 'You'll have to sit on my head, where you can hold on to the feathers. You'll be shielded from the wind, and won't slide off.' Gideon explained. 'Its a long, cold ride from here.'
"From what I know, he's just a rogue hunter." Nightingale said, smiling and giving Gideon's muzzle a warm hug before climbing onto his head and snuggling herself down into the feathers. For the first few moments she couldn't stop giggling. "At least they're soft..." She whispered out loud, using a bit of magic to glue herself to his head and keep the air over her skin warm.
After three days of unrelentless, uneventful flying, the three dragons and woman landed not a few miles outside the giant walled city of Aria. The one resting place before their portal jump to the capital of the world. Gideon rest his head down to let Night dismount before quickly returning to human shape, along with Thoren and David. Gideon began to set up tents, and Thoren left to gather wood for a fire. David and Night were left to clear any obstructions from their site.
