Chapter 7:
It’s been eight days. I was starving and thirsty. I had little water and no food. I lay on the ground, tired, when footsteps from Trevor came down the stairs. I sat up on the floor at looked at him. “Well, why so down princess?” he asked. I ignored him. “Why are you keeping me here. Just kill me already.” I said. I was tired. I just wanted this to end. Trevor frowned. “Now, watching someone else suffer other than myself is just too much fun. Especially because it’s the daughter of a woman I can’t stand nor want.” he said.
I laid back on the floor, getting into a semi comfortable position. I stared at the ground.
I missed Jason. I wanted him. Being without him hurt. I looked through the bars and noticed Trevor staring at me. “You look so good.” he whispered. I looked at him then down to the floor again. Soon I heard footsteps leave. Thank god he left.
I laid there for another good hour, before I heard footsteps again. Why did he have to come back so soon. I sat up again only this time seeing Jason. I stood up and ran to the bars. “Jason!” I said relieved to him. He kissed me hard. “Anna! I can’t believe you’re still alive!” he said. He took the bars, moving them apart. I stepped out and ran into Jason’s arms. He held me tight. I sniffed as I felt tears coming. “I thought I would never see you again.” I whispered, my throat dry. “Its okay. I’m here.” he said.
We both ran up the stairs and out of the shed. We ran through the woods but before we could really get away, Trevor stopped us in our trail. “You stole what was mine.” he said. Jason put me behind him. “Go.” he said sternly. Trevor pushed Jason, hitting his back against the tree. “No!” I said. Before I could run to him, Trevor took my wrist and bit hard. I felt the venom as it went through my veins. He was then pushed off of me by Jason. I fell hard to the ground. My body was so weak. The venom only made it worst. Blood was now flowing out of my arm. I used my other hand to cover the blood. I looked for Jason, finding him fighting Trevor.
Trevor was strong. But Jason was also. From time to time, Jason was on top of Trevor then Trevor was on top of Jason. Trevor started pulling Jason’s arms, cracking them. I screamed. “No! Please!” I cried. My vision was blurry and I felt blood falling out of my mouth. I laid there helpless. Jason soon jumped on Trevor, getting a good grip of his head. He pulled as hard as he could, tearing his head from his body. After hours of fighting, Jason had won.
He ran over to me out of breath. I was choking on my blood as it flowed out. Jason sat me up, helping me breath a little better. “Anna, I’m going to have to suck the venom out. I’m not going to let you be one of them. I want to have children of our kind. I want you to grow and be happy.” he said.
My vision was soon giving out. I cupped Jason’s face and that was the last thing I saw before my sight went black.
I woke up in a hospital bed, with an IV on my left arm and a cast on my right. My head ached and my throat was dry. Jason walked over to me. “You’re awake!” he said. I looked at him. He’s eyes began to tear up. He took my left hand in his. “You were in a coma for four months.” he told me. I tried talking but nothing came out. Jason smiled. “I’m just so glad to see those beautiful brown eyes.” he said. I smiled as much as I could at him. He kissed my forehead. “Your mom should be here tomorrow. She already visited you today.” he said. I nodded in response.
He rubbed my forehead and looked at me. I smiled and closed my eyes. “No, open your eyes. I can’t stand to see you with your eyes closed. Not when they just opened.” he said. I opened them slowly. “I love you so much.” he smiled.
I cupped his face and rubbed his soft cheek with my thumb. I can’t believe I had someone to love my whole life and never realized it. Jason was the one I wanted to be with for the rest of my life. I loved him. He was my partner.
