Scurry here scurry there. Make sure everyone has the correct order. Keep the coffee coming. Run here run there. Don't stop.

My little mantra blurs together as I try and stay on top of orders for the Saturday morning rush in the cafe. I normally don't mind the odd hours but I really need sleep, the owners Mr and Mrs Bakers are extremely nice and understanding and pay me more than what a normal waitress would make, especially at a small cafe. But now that Evaline, my closest friend and previous flat mate has moved out to live with her fiancé I've had to pick up an extra job to cover the rent even though I've moved into a smaller apartment. The other job is great too, I work with Stoneface films, I mainly work with the podcast the run editing audio and taking pictures and later writing articles but I also do general office work there as well. It's not that I don't enjoy it but a lot of the editing is extremely time consuming, which means less sleep. And more coffee. Lots of coffee.

I refill some low coffee cups right before I have to leave. Thank god my shift is over. Now I can go and take a nap before I have to go in to work with another podcast that needs to be recorded. As I walk outside I zip up my jacket.

"Christ it's freezing." I mutter to myself. Honestly what did I expect I live in Ireland it's almost always cold. Actually considering it's November it's actually warmer than normal. I begin the relatively short walk back to my apartment in haste. Nothing sounds better than curling up on my bed and sleeping. I can practically feel the warm blankets around me when my phone rings snapping me back to reality. I groan and look at the caller ID, it's my boss Jon.

I pick up the phone reluctantly. "Hello?"

"Hey Scarlet, sorry to bother you but we are going to have to move the podcast up. How soon can you be here?"

"I'm about 20 minutes away by cab." I already start to hail an oncoming cab. Great no rest for me.

"You're the best Scarlet, I owe you big time." He sounds relieved.

"I know, damn right you do." Jon even though he's my boss is extremely laid back and we quickly became friends. The entire office is laid back. I hang up as I get in the cab. On the way there it starts to drizzle. What a great omen.

When I get there I pay the cabbie and quickly go into the building to avoid getting too wet from the rain that has gotten heavier during the ride. I quickly make my way upstairs to my office and when I get there Jon is already there.

"Sorry for making you come in early but we had a last minute change in plans. My brother, Andrew, is in town for a week and we want to do a special podcast with him. Is there anything you need?"

"Coffee. Strong coffee. When will he be here so I know how long I have to set up." I sit down at my desk gathering all of the equipment I keep here.

"You're right about the coffee, you look like you crawled out of a grave." I look up at him sarcastically. "Not that it's a bad thing, you're totally rocking the half dead look. Ehm anyways about an hour and we want to try and make it several episodes so that's why we are starting earlier. And my mum wants us both home for a family dinner since Andrew is always traveling now." He trails off. "I'll get you that coffee now."

I sigh in relief. Now I can just focus and get my gear together to film this podcast and then I can go home and sleep, thank god I have tomorrow off. I'm picking up everything to move it into the recording room when my phone rings. I groan and sit down.

"Hello?" I say into the black reciever.

"Hey 'Lette. You don't sound to good. And you didn't pick up your cell or house phone so I thought I would try here." I smile at Evaline's voice.

"God I'm just tired. Long day and they called me in early to work."

"Well I just go the most amazing bit of news that you'll love to hear." She sounds excited and curiosity strikes.

"Is that so? What is this amazing news?"

"Turns out that Hozier's manager fired the photographer and her assistant. She wants to kill two birds with one stone and is looking for someone with managing skills and photojournalism skills." My jaw drops at the news. We both love Hozier's music and a tiny flame of hope flickers to life.
