A small crooked smile stretched across his face when he asked. At first I didn't understand what he was asking and then it clicked, dancing he wanted to dance.
"Oh um yes, please." I blush at my own lack of comprehension and take his hand scrambling to my feet. Here he is trying to be sweet and I'm awkward as ever.
Once I'm standing he takes my left hand in his own and places his other hand on the small of my back gently pressing me closer to him. My right hand goes up to his shoulder as he begins to lead. It's not really dancing, more just slowly moving in a large circle while swaying back and forth. Slowly but surely we seem to gravitate towards each other and somehow I end up resting my head against his chest while his head rests on top of mine. I can feel his steady breaths and they remind me of the ocean waves I would stare at for hours, calm and steady.
As we continued our little dance he began to sing along softly to the music. "I know time is going to take its toll, have to pay for the love we stole, lord it's a sin and you know it's wrong. But darling our love, our love carry on, carrying just steal away." He trailed off.
"To the dark end of our street you and me." I picked up after he trailed off. Lord knows I'm not talented enough to sing like he can but I can manage to make one line sound decent.
Neither of us continue to sing and we just listen to the music. Somehow my other hand has wrapped itself around the back of neck, my fingers toying gently with his hair. Both of his hands are wrapped around me as well. Part of me worries that I'm falling too fast that things are moving to fast, hell we met only hours ago, but I push those thoughts to the back of my mind it's just a dance and it feels good to be held again.
*Jon's point of view*
I set down the controller on the small coffee table in front of me.
"Where do you think they both got to? They've been gone for some time now." I look at Davey who just shrugs too focused on the game in front of him to have noticed their prolonged absence.
"Who knows, probably talking away about concerts. She loves concert photography right? She's probably asking for all the nitty gritty details." Rob leans back on the couch. "Why don't you find out, besides the pizza should be here soon and I'm sure they are both hungry as well."
I stand up taking Rob's suggestion and start looking around for them when I hear music drifting down the staircase. I quietly make my way upstairs and walk down the hall to the only door that's open. The music grows louder as I approach the door and I pause before peaking in. Scarlett and Andrew are both dancing, they don't seem to notice me but Julia does and she lifts her head in my direction titling it to the side out of curiosity. I don't think it's fair to disturb them so I just leave them be making my way back downstairs.
"So where were they?" Davey asks.
"They were just listening to records upstairs." I don't think I should tell them what I saw just yet.
"Did you tell them the food will be here soon?" Davey says looking back at the game.
"Oh no, totally slipped my mind-" I'm cut off by the doorbell ringing.
*Back to Scarlett's point of view*
The doorbell rings downstairs bringing me back into reality.
"That's probably the pizza." I sigh pulling back. I switch the player off and walk out leaving Andrew and Julia to follow. I grab my wallet off of a counter and open the door.
Much to my surprise it's not the pizza delivery person but rather Evaline holding two boxes of Pizza.
"Evaline?"
"Surprise! I met the pizza delivery guy on my way in and took these off his hands for you, don't worry about paying me back it's my treat." She makes her way past me into the kitchen setting down the food "Boys, pizza is here!"
I follow in after her and she gives me a look that I know to mean that she wants answers. I look down at Julia by my side. This is going to be interesting.
