Its still pretty cold out so I find warmer clothes than what I had been wearing yesterday. The rain is great, it really is but only to an extent. I stand in front of my full length mirror that has been propped up in a corner of my room.
"What do you think Julia will this be okay for today?" I ask her. She groggily raises one head off of her paws and looks at me from the bed. Of course, what did I expect asking her when she was tired. I sit down next to her ruffling her fur. I had already done my hair and minimal makeup so that was set. "How about some food hmm?" her ears immediately perk at the mention of food. I can't really take her for a walk because of the rain and I have to make my way to the café by ten. I hate being late.
Downstairs in the kitchen Evaline had made breakfast for herself and some coffee. "Morning Evaline." I say walking into the kitchen with Julia padding behind me.
"You look nice, going somewhere?" She asks behind her cup of coffee.
I grab Julia's dog food and pour it into her dish and refill her water as I answer. "Yeah I have to go shopping for some things, stop by the café to let them know what's going on, and I'm going to grab a coffee." I lean against the counter grabbing an apple from the fruit stand.
"Okay well good luck with that. Make sure to take your good coat and umbrella with you, its only drizzling now but it's supposed to get a lot worse later." she takes a sip of her coffee pausing. "also I'm going to be staying with my mom for a day or two and get a few things but I will be back before you leave."
"Oh okay." It came as a surprise since I thought Evaline was going to be spending time with me but whatever she needs to do she should do.
Less than hour later I'm walking through Dublin streets avoiding puddles and making my way to the small corner café Andrew wanted to meet at. I had already stopped at the café since it was on my way and the owners while sad were very sweet and understanding, telling me that whenever I came back I would always have a job there. Which is very sweet of them they didn't have to do that.
It's about five minutes after ten when I get there and Andrew isn't here yet so I choose a small booth in the back that gives a good view of both the street and the shop. It's nice and warm in here and I stare out the window watching people pass by in a hurry. I wonder where they are all going.
Andrew sits down across from me pulling me out of my thoughts. "Hey sorry I was a bit late, the interview ran a bit over." He smiles as he sits down.
"No no it's fine! You're busy you didn't have to stop to have a coffee with me." I smile back sitting up a bit more, conscious of how I was holding myself around him. God I'm hopeless.
Andrew laughs at my response. "Trust me I need coffee about now."
The waitress, an older lady with a warm smile, comes over and takes our order. Andrew ordering black coffee while I go with a mocha to satisfy my sweet tooth.
"I'm glad you agreed to come on as a photographer. Did Caroline explain you will also act as a manager too?" Andrew asks looking back at me when the waitress leaves.
"A bit but not really." I respond, idly playing with a scrap of paper that had been left on the table
"It's nothing too hard I promise. You'll just be keeping us on schedule and make sure things run smoothly since Caroline won't be touring with us." He smiles trying to ease my obvious nervousness.
I relax my shoulders a bit. Surely I can handle that, it won't be too hard, right? I'm about to respond when the waitress comes back with our drinks. "Okay a black coffee for you." She sets down Andrew's drink in front of him gently. "And a mocha for you dear. Can I get you anything else?"
"No thank you, this looks lovely." Andrew answers smiling.
When she leaves I start talking again. "Okay that doesn't seem too hard. I'm essentially just a babysitter for you all." I say trying to bite back a smile.
Andrew laughs. "Yes I suppose you can look at it like that." he changes the subject. "Mocha. That's a nice choice it's really sweet though."
I smile. "I just like sweet things. Black coffee, isn't that fairly bitter though?"
He thinks for a second before he responds. "I just like strong things." He smiles after he says that using my own words against me.
We both end up drinking our coffee fairly quickly since Andrew had to leave soon, but it was fun just sitting and talking with him like that. He opened up to me quite a bit more than when we were just with his brother. It was a nice change of pace. Now though, I have to go home and handle Evaline.
