The interview passes quickly enough, and I just grind my teeth from behind the camera as the blonde woman openly flirts with Andrew, purposefully unbuttoning her shirt further. Andrews eyes glance downwards more than once. Not that I care. Don't care whatsoever.
Maybe I care a little. But in the elevator with awkward silence falling over me and Andrew as the numbers count down to one he turns to me. "Are you okay?"
I look up at him. "Yeah. I'm just frustrated we are already way behind where we are supposed to be, you're supposed to be at a sound check already and we still have to go back to the hotel first."
He shrugs and shoots me a crooked smile. "It will work out trust me."
We walk back past Vanessa and she shoots Andrew a "have a nice day" her voice dripping with honey. Andrew ignores her but I shoot her a glance and she scoffs at me.
Andrew is much more awake in the car this time on the way back to the hotel. "Okay we have fifteen minutes for both of us to grab what we need for the night and then leave for the sound check." Andrew nods and then diverts his attention to his phone as I sink into the seat.
I quickly pull Andrew through the lobby and up to our rooms as I set a timer. We part ways and I quickly go through my things I would need for tonight while trying to freshen up. When the timer on my phone goes off I throw my bags over my shoulder and go to Andrews room. I knock but there's no response.
I wait a moment and try again calling his name and knocking harder.
Still nothing.
I try the door and its unlocked. WELL. We need to go. I go into the room only to find Andrew pulling up his pants shirtless.
I flush and turn around. "Uh. We have to go. I'll just uh I'll wait outside." I manage to stammer out before rushing out of the room. I hope to the gods he was just in the middle of changing and not something else.
It's a couple minutes and Andrew comes out and even though my face had gone back to normal I flush again when he comes out. I just start walking as quickly as I can with my short legs.
Neither of us break the awkward silence until we are have way to the venue. I manage to stutter out an apology, "I'm soooo sorry I just was in a rush and you weren't answering and the door was unlocked and I just-" My words are tumbling on top of one another and he cuts me off.
"Scarlet, it's fine. Don't worry about it, it was just an accident." he says gently.
I stare up at the ceiling of the car still blushing, "you should probably remember to lock your door." I say quietly.
"Probably, never know what perverts are trying to sneak a glance when I'm changing." he laughs
I start to object but he gives me a nudge with his shoulder and I look at him realizing he was just joking with me.
When we finally get to the venue the sound check has already been set up and Andrew gets right into it with the band and I have a moment to sit down and email Caroline about how things were going, I decided to omit the bit about me walking in on Andrew.
I'm grabbing a bottle of water while everyone is packing up the spare equipment when someone bumps into me from behind and the freezing water douses me.
The guy mutters an apology not bothering to stop and I groan and put both my hands on the table head downcast.
"What's the matter?" I hear Andrew walk up behind me asking a couple of moments later.
I turn around just about ready to cry, "I got knocked in to and now I'm soaked. I don't have time to go back and change either." I rub my arm and then look at Andrew...who is decidedly not looking at my face.
I follow his gaze and realize my light white shirt was now more clear than white leaving nothing to imagination. I blush heavily and look up at Andrew who sheepishly meets my gaze.
I sink down to the ground in shame, clutching my knees to my chest and rest my head on them. "This is the worst day ever." I mutter.
Andrew sits down next to me and takes off one of his many layers laying it over my back. "Here, you can cover up with this. I'm sorry." he looks down and I sneak a glance at him.
I let out a soft "Thank you." it's quiet for a moment, "I guess this makes us even for earlier?" I ask sheepishly a small grin appearing.
He looks over and laughs, "I suppose it does"
