Words to Me

Rambling

I frown pausing the movie and unlock my phone reading the message.

'Hey sorry this is so early but Jon gave me your number and I talked to Caroline and she said you accepted the job and I'm really excited and was wondering if you wanted some help packing.'

As soon as I read it another text came through.

'It's Andrew by the way. I forgot to say that.'

I smile typing a response. 'Hey, that would be great I didn't have any idea on what to pack. When would you want to come over?'

I get a response almost immediately. 'Well I'm busy today but I can definitely help tomorrow. What are you even doing up so early?'

I look down at Julia who huffs impatiently waiting for me to start the movie up again but I ignore her responding sarcastically 'Why are you awake?'

'I asked you first.' He responds. I go red thinking about the dream I had of him and type in an excuse.

'I couldn't sleep. What about you?' Technically it's not a lie.

'I was hanging out with Jon playing videogames. What are you doing?'

'You should be asleep you're busy later. I'm watching a movie.' I set my the phone down on my lap and press play on the movie.

This time it's a few minutes until my phone lights up with a response. 'What movie?'

'Pulp Fiction, it's one of my favorites. What game?'

'Dark Souls III. It came out fairly recently. That's an amazing movie btw. Do you want to get coffee like at ten later?' I raise my eyebrows at the last part of that message, he wants me to get coffee, with him, later today?

'Uh yeah sure but aren't you busy all day?' I quickly type back.

'I have like an hour in between stuff in Dublin and thought by that time I could use a coffee and I would love if you could come and you said yes so that's great and I'm rambling now so I'm going to shut up.'

I laugh lightly as I read over his increasingly awkward message and send back 'Okay well text me where you would want to get coffee from and I'll meet you there at ten. I'm going to try and get some sleep then and I suggest you do the same since you have to actually work tomorrow.'

I get a response fairly quickly 'Alright. Sleep well I'm going to try and get some rest too then. Goodnight!'

'Goodnight!'

I look up at Julia who is half asleep on my legs. "Come on girl we have to get some rest now." I switch off the tv and put everything back in it's place and head back up to my room with Julia trailing rather groggily behind me.

I'm excited for later but surprisingly it doesn't take me that long to go back to sleep.

When I wake up it's only just after eight and I can hear Evaline rummaging around in the kitchen. As I get ready for the day a thought begins to root itself in my mind. I'm going to have to quit my jobs. I mean the one at Stoneface with Jon is pretty much taken care of but the one at the café, not so much. I kinda dread quitting the owners have been so nice to me since I've been here. After I meet up with Andrew I will have to go and tell them. I take a deep breath pushing back all of those thoughts and preparing myself for the day ahead.
