Reflection which is noblest; Second by

Imitation which is easiest; and third

By experience which is bitterest."-Confucion

Detective Wilson POV

"She's not ready, there has to be someone else that can do the job." I say to this red-haired, freckled pain in the ass.

"No one else can do the job, believe when I tell you we looked everywhere but none of our guys can pass of as a college student, they can only pass off as teachers and no one confines with teachers anymore and you know it, she's ready the only person that's not ready to take the step forward is you...."

I couldn't believe that he was trying to persuade me to send my baby girl, Kate, who's not a baby anymore, to take part in this case. So I interrupted him.

"No, she's not ready, which is precisely why she's still in the academy, it's too soon and college is not suited for her which is why she skipped it, if I send her on this case she's going to be pissed."

That statement isn't so true, she'd jump to the first chance she got to be in a case. He knew it, which is why he tried to contain his annoying smile.

"She won't be pissed, she'll be over the moon with joy, and besides she's the top of her class, aced all her tests and exams both physical and mentally. You know I wouldn't ask this of you if everyone on this case didn't think it's the right choice. Plus all she's going to do is stay close to the subject and report back to us, she won't even have a gun."

I rolled my eyes, Kate has been asking for her own gun ever since she was six, six. You can imagine what a handful she was. I miss those days, at least back then she didn't defy me.

I hated that Adam was right but I also didn't want her to carry some sort of weapon.

"Fine, but we can't just leave her defenceless, because Adam if anything happens to my daughter I will shoot you in the knee cap and I heard that hurts like hell"

Pleased that that made Adam gulp. He tried to cover it by making a joke.

"Ah, detective, your daughter is far from defenceless if you ask me but either way we're given her a teaser, which we'll have to inform her is only in case of a emergence. Now would you like to give her a call...?"

I stopped Adam. I didn't want him calling my daughter to tell her something she's been dying to hear. It might make her start dating Adam, if there not already. They're practically inseparable even though Kate says, she thinks of him as a brother but still I'm a dad and all guys are considered to be a threat.

"No I have a better idea." I smile thinking of the outcome. I might just get a hug.

Hey, so this is the prologue, hope you like it. I did a quote at the beginning of the book, hope you like it too. Just so you know this is my first book so please don't judge. If you don't like the book than don't continue reading but I suggest you read at least two chapters. No one is forcing you to read the book.

That's all for now.
