Kate POV
After four hours I managed to get everything that I needed for a complete makeover. I didn't go shopping just for fun, I went to make sure I have a believable disguise since that department sucks at those.
I made my way back to my dad's office, to put my disguise to the test. When I got there a man and women were standing in front of my dad's desk. They looked familiar but I couldn't remember where I've seen them and then it hit. They were William and Jacqueline Park, David's mother and father.
"We have everything under control, Ms Parks, you son is in good hands, we sent the best to watch over him." I couldn't help but smile at that remark. My dad called me that best.
"I hope you don't mind but we would like to see the men you put in charge of protecting our son." Mr Park said.
It drawn on me that my dad did not tell them that I, his daughter, was in fact in charge of David's safety. My dad looked a little worried probably wondering how to put the news together without Mr and Ms Park freaking out.
"The thing is the person in charge isn't, well..." I thought that now was the best time to introduce myself in my disguise, plus it saved my dad.
"It's very nice to meet you Mr and Ms Park' I cut my dad off and extended my hand to the, clearly, worried parents. 'My name is Jamie Anderson, and I'm the one responsible for the safety of your son." I could see my dad's eyes bulging out. I just didn't know wither it was because someone invaded his case or because he recognised me.
"Are you sure Jamie's right for the job, Detective Wilson?" Mr Park asked, who directed the question at my dad. I understood that Mr Park wasn't trying to offend, he was just making sure that my dad knew what he was doing. I didn't give my dad time to respond though.
"Absolutely, I was the top in class back at the academy, aced everything they threw at me, and I take my job seriously. I know I don't look like much, but trust me, your son is in very capable hands and I'm not just referring to myself but also to Detective Wilson's entire team." I knew I sounded like a kiss up and a person full of himself but I couldn't let my dad answer their question if he blow's it for me.
This seemed to convince the Park's, I guess they didn't mind the fact that I was being modest and they bid us both farewell and went out the door. I turned around to face my dad, whose face has gone entirely red and looked as though he was about to explode.
"I don't know who you are and frankly I don't give a rat's ass, but meet me and my capable team in the meeting room in five minutes. Understand and that's NOT an option." Then he turned on his heel and walk toward the meeting room.
I wanted to jump up and down again, I mean my disguise worked, it actually worked. To have fooled my dad, who has a keen eye and me very well was a big deal. I knew then and there that I'm going to do just fine on this case. Nothing was going to stop me
I walked in the meeting, my dad seemed to have calmed down a bit. He apparently told the team what happened in that short time because everyone looked at me, looking pissed. I couldn't have been happier.
I was smirking as if to say 'I don't care that I just invaded your case' because to them that's what they think Jamie Anderson is doing. Everyone seemed to have fallen silent and decided to glare at me. Knowing they won't start to say anything, I said,
"Good day, detective Wilson, Adam, Sophie, Drake, Karen. I'm Jamie Anderson and I'm guessing you want to discuss the details when I start supervising David Park, yes?" I know I should just tell them it's me, but I just want to see how long it will take them to recognise me. Plus it was fun to mess with their heads.
