Kate's POV

Today, David and I barely talked, in classes we still sat next to each, we just didn't talk making the lessons seem longer than usual. The thing is David talked to the guy's just fine, so I guessed his problem was with me, great I'm supposed to make him trust me not get him to hate my guts.

Right now were waiting for the second bell, so we could start Chemistry. Me and David sat down at a table with three chairs since we were partners with Don as well.

Drake come in and pointed at me and indicated that I should speak to him now. "Listen Jamie,' he used my fake name to make sure that if someone overhead, they wouldn't know I'm a girl. 'Your dad, wanted me to inform you that if you don't get anything soon you'll have to try I different tactics or you're off the case." Drake sounded genially sorry.

Great this is just what I needed today. A deadline for information you can't access on the internet or I'm as good as dead.

"Until when?"

"Next Monday, so a week. Good luck Jamie, I know you'll manage." He encouraged

"Thanks."

I said grimly, I know it's not Drakes fault but a week, to get that type of information. I have to give David until Saturday to tell me himself or I'll have to snoop around his things. Thanks Dad, thanks a whole lot.

The bell rang and I went inside, Don was sitting next to David and the empty chair was on Don's left. I sat there trying to figure out what to do about getting David to trust me enough to tell me and right now he won't even talk to me.

Don and David were staring at me with worried glances. I guess I showed that I was in a bit of a mood. Apparently Don was trying to talk to me but I ignored him.

"Sorry, I was kind of distracted."

"What did the teacher want?" Don asked

"Nothing important, just that he wanted me to enter a Chemistry competition coming up soon."

"So why do you look so down?"

"I received a message from my dad, with terrible news at suckish timing."

It wasn't a lie really, I did receive a message from my dad and it was bad news. Then Don put his arm around me and tried to comfort me. What is it with guys and putting their arms around me, first David now Don whose next Eliot? David saw Don's arm around me and I thought I saw that David was hurt but it was gone after that. Anger seemed to replace it.

"Will you two keep it down, I'm trying to concentrate, as you know Chemistry is not an easy subject."

Good news, David is talking to me well not really but at least a sentence, bad news, he sounds like he hates my guts. Don removed his arm and paid attention to the lesson. Drake tried to ignore me during the lesson. I really needed the day off today. The bell rang and Don slid me a note.

Meet me in the park at six o-clock. ---Don

And now I got plans after school, more time to waste but I can't not go without a good reason, I don't have one and I couldn't think of one. I packed my things and went to the next class, psychology. David came up to me and asked;

"What did Don's note say?" He asked

"Oh just to meet up with him at six."

"He's probably going to ask you out." It came out too bitter to pass of as a warning

"He doesn't have a crush on me." I could hear the exhaustion in my voice

"So why else would he have asked you out?"
