Kate's POV

I'm tying my shoe lases, even though I didn't need to re-do them, I just needed to do something while Adam, who's the coach right now, is bringing a surprise to the class. I know what the surprise is except I don't call it a surprise, I call it a-noisy-dad-who-needed-an-excuse-to-come-to-school-even-though-there-is-a-parent-visitation-day-this-week annoyance.

Anyway the reason I'm re-doing my shoe lases is because David is avoiding me and the rest of the guys can feel the tension. I just hope David realises that I'm still coming to his basketball practise after school, I really don't want to but at the same time I need to watch David's back and hopefully find out who's threating David. It is going to be a long practice unless...

"Hey guys," I start saying when I finished re-doing the shoe lases and then I got up, "I'm going to go watch David's basketball practise, you want to come with?"

David shot me an irritated look but he also showed he was relieved at the same time but about what I had no idea. Kenny seemed to notice the irritated look because he put his arm around David's shoulder and said;

"Come on Dave; what's the worst that can happen?"

David was about to respond when Matt decided it was his turn to speak;

"Yeah, Kenny's right and we're only going to criticize your every move."

Then Don joined in the parade of encouragement;

"If you let Jamie come, then why don't you let us?"

"Don's right," Matt continued with Don's statement; "If you're letting Jamie watch then you won't have a problem if you're best friend, emphasis on best friend, and best buds tag along." David rolled his eyes and turned to Eliot

"Eliot," David began; "You haven't said a word, what's your take in this? Is it because you don't think it's a good idea to come to practise? Please say yes."

"Are you kidding?" Eliot responded sounding he might burst laughing; "I haven't said a word because I'm enjoying seeing your face turn red with rage with these idiots pleas."

Eliot burst into a fit of laughter and was soon joined by everyone except for David. David turned to me and pointed a finger at me;

"Why did you sick these maniacs on me, didn't I suffer enough?"

I was trying my best not to laugh at his face with his accusation so instead I focused on giving him a good comeback.

"Those maniacs are your friends and I get bored watching a bunch of guys chase after a ball or doing crazy exercises all the time. It's not exciting at all, I have no idea why people would pay to see it. I practically have to try not die with boredom, and your maniacs of friends are the best cure for that."

I heard a few 'ohhs', a Matt dying of laughter and a 'nice one Jamie' to that amazing comeback, if I do say so myself. I looked at David, which I could tell was trying to come up with a better comeback but realised that there wasn't one, so instead he said;

"Fine if you guys want to come than come and I can't believe that finally you all agreed on something without an argument breaking, and it was to gang up on me." He stated pretending to sound hurt.

David was practically sulking but it was adorable when he did. Stop thinking about David, you almost ruined everything last time. I really hate having scold myself, it's really annoying.

"Don't be such a baby about it." Matt told David, interrupting my thoughts. Then he changed the subject; "So what do you thing the surprise is that coach has in store for us?" He indicated that question to everyone but I was the one to answer.
