Chapter 14

Kate's POV

The meeting was going to start soon and I was just glad that I managed to get some information before the deadline. This time it was going to be just me, Sophie, Adam and Drake since my dad had to fill the reports for today's event and Karen was helping him. I walked in the chemistry room and from the gloomy faces I could tell that the team didn't find anything useful to the case.

"Did you find anything?" I was only asking just in case they were trying to prank me. No such luck but I didn't feel completely bummed, I get to spend more time with David... and his friends.

"We found the phone, it was the burner and abandoned, we tried to find prints on it but there wasn't anything." Drake explained

"At least I managed to get some information about the threats." I said trying to cheer them up

"You did? That's great, now share." Adam demanded which earned him an annoyed look from Sophie.

"Go ahead sweetie." Sophie encouraged me.

"The threats didn't just start now they happened before..."

I paused and waited to see if anyone would interrupt, which happens quite often but they didn't so I continued.

"They started when David was on the team and the threats are the reason he quit. The reason they started again is because the coach of his team asked David to join again. No one knows about this so I figured it must be someone on the team. The culprit is definitely someone who doesn't want David back on the team." I informed

"Great job Kate." Drake said. I was kind of disappointed that I couldn't have told all that to my dad and then he would be the one to tell me 'Good job Kate'.

"I'm trying to encourage David to join the team so..." I was interrupted by Drake

"So the culprit will feel pressured to take action. I have to check this with your dad."

Drake took out his phone and went out the room and started dialling my dad. The rest of us, me, Sophie and Adam waited for Drake to return. It took about ten minutes for him to hang up.

"Kate, you're dad agreed with your plan but he said that if David does take his spot back on the team you need to go with him everywhere with him, that would include the practise, the changing rooms, if need be." I blushed, it's the changing room after all, the place where men change.

"And if you see anything suspicious you report immediately. Got it?" he continued

"Got it."

"Hey Kate, what are you doing tomorrow?" Adam asked.

I raised my eyebrow; "Adam are you asking me out?" I joked and he snorted.

"What, no way, I was just asking since David is going to dinner with his parents."

"How did you know that?"

"Sophie planned it because she thought you might need the dorm to yourself."

I knew Sophie was behind it and I mouthed a silent thank you to Sophie who smiled at me.

"I'm going to hang out with Rosy because I need the girl time." I responded

"I bunch of girls giggling with each other, good luck with that." Adam doesn't really like the whole girl bounding thing, mostly because he doesn't get why they always stay close to each other

"A bunch of girls and Jamie Anderson, actually." I informed

"You're going in your disguise that is surely is going to make your dad proud." He smiled
