"Um, guys stop cuddling. We have to go." A feminine voice said over me.
I opened my eyes and saw Halley standing in front of me. I was laying my head on Isaiah's bare chest and my arm across his stomach. Both of his arms were hooked around me.
I shot up out of the bed quickly, and scrambled toward the door. "Oh my gosh, that wasn't--that wasn't what it looked like." I stuttered.
Halley stared at me for a moment before laughing. "It's fine, Jessa. You're just confused."
I stopped abruptly, and turned to stare at her. "Why would I be confused, Halley." I said, narrowing my eyes.
She looked at Isaiah, who was still passed out. "You like him, Jessa." she whispered.
I snorted, trying to make it seem like I thought that was hilarious. "I do not, Halley." I lied.
She raised an eyebrow at me, not believing a word of it. "I'm so sure."
"He's my stepbrother." I said.
"So? He's not your biological brother. You're not blood-related."
I huffed. "It doesn't matter. Do you really think my mother and his father would be okay with the fact that their children are in love and live under the same roof? They'd have to break up."
"Isn't that what you want?" she asked.
I opened my mouth to speak but closed it again.
To be honest, that was what I wanted, but after seeing how happy my mother was with Jeff made me realize that I wanted them to stay together. It would break my mother's heart if they had to break up because of Isaiah and I. She would probably hate me for the rest of her life.
"No. Its not what I want." I finally replied.
