"When words fail,
music speaks."

The following day came soon enough and I hadn't quite realised that I'd fallen asleep on the sofa from staying up and watching the last season of Merlin on my laptop. Whoops.

"She's normally like this?" Came the smooth voice as I started to stir, shifting onto my side and burying my face into the cushion under my head. I heard a faint chuckle and the sound of glasses clinking together.

"Yeap, especially when she stays up watching her shows. Tea?" I recognised the second voice to be Teddy.

"Teddy, who the hell are you talking to?" I groaned into the cushion, feeling too lazy to get up.

"She speaks." Came the first voice again, sounding amused. I tried to remember where I'd heard the voice before and lifted my head off the pillow to see who it was.

Shit.

Wes was sitting in the armchair, hugging the Totoro plush toy looking at me, the poor thing being squished to his chest.

I let out a yelp of surprise and promptly fell onto the floor, groaning in pain.

"Sorry! Didn't mean the startle you." Wes rushed to my side and helped me sit upright.

"When did you get here?" I asked, still trembling with amazement.

"About half an hour ago? Thought you'd be up by then but clearly that isn't the case." He smirked and I blushed. How embarrassing.

"I was going to wake you up but you looked so peaceful luv." Teddy winked coming back into the room with a mug of tea for Wes.

I rolled my eyes at him and sighed.

"Give me a second to wash up and we can get started?" I asked Wes.

"Aren't you going to eat?" He asked curiously in return.

"It's like lunchtime, I'm sure Teds won't mind getting lunch since it's his turn this week?" I looked pointedly at my partner, grinning evilly and he huffed, beginning to look for his coat. Wes laughed.

"Is it always like this with you two?" He asked, still grinning and somehow it made me smile and feel a arena he fuzzy feeling at the fact that'd I'd made him smile.

"Pretty much." I chuckled.

"Alright then." He grinned and I left to get washed up, swapping out my Marvel comic jammies and plain white tee for a comfy oversized reindeer sweater and some long black sweats after a warm shower.

I brushed my teeth and gave my face a scrub for good measure before heading out to look for Wes. I walked past my room on the way to the studio only to realise that Wes was in my room.

"Wes?" I called to him. He was holding up a piece of paper on my desk and jumped at the mention of his name.

"Sorry didn't mean to invade your space but your room looked interesting." He replied sheepishly and took in my room, putting down the paper.

The walls were a light grey and pushed up against the wall opposite to the floor-to-ceiling windows was a large white desks an some cupboards. On the wall beside it there was a double decker bed with an assortment of oversized stuffed toys on the top bunk and George the house plant along the opposite wall beside the two bookcases and a closet.

"Hardly, it's more of a mismatched patchwork of modern day furnishings and antiques." I shrugged. "You coming?"

He threw one last glance around the room and followed me to the study-studio.
