Chapter 3

Zion's P.O.V.

Why did she leave? Did I do something wrong?

"Hey Zion, what's up? Why do you have your thinking face going on?" My bud, Jaxon asked.

"I think I had an interest in this girl but she ran from me."

"What did you say?"

"I don't know. I don't remember saying anything bad."

"Maybe it was something else then. Maybe her parents wanted her home immediately."

"Yeah that might have been it." But that doesn't add up.

"Maybe you'll see her soon."

"I hope so."

**The Next Day**

River's P.O.V.

I woke up and seen that it was six o'clock. I guess I'll start getting ready now.

I went to the bathroom and did all that hygiene stuff. I put on all black cargo pants, a green flower shirt, a black fisherman hat to go with the pants, and all black shoes. I really don't like to wear much of girl clothes.

I went downstairs to leave but of course my "parents" have to make a comment about me.

"Oh honey, look at my daughter, she looks like a dyke. It's crazy how she's going for the other team now." My mother said.

"She's still a whore honey. She'll take whatever people will give her." My stepfather said.

I rolled my eyes and just walked out. I don't have for them to talk me down.

I walked to school and on the way I got the same turkey and bacon sandwich and ate on the way to school.

When I got there I immediately went to the office. I felt people staring at me but that must be because they've never seen me before.

I walked into the office and I seen the front desk lady typing on the computer with her long fingernails taping the keyboard making annoying sounds. "Hi I'm a new student."

"What's your name?" She asked not looking at me.

I rolled my eyes. "River Jackson."

She typed and the printed something out. "Here." She handed me a paper which was my schedule.

I rolled my eyes again and just left. I looked at my schedule.

Period 1 - English 4

Period 2 - Free Period

Period 3 - Pre Cal

Period 4 - Free Period

Period 5 - Free Period

Wondering why I have so many free periods? I already did all of my classes during the summer so I didn't have to do a lot of work in school and so I could get away from my parents during the summer.

I went to my first period and class already started. "Oh we have a new student. Would you like to introduce yourself?"

I stepped in front of the class,"My name is River." I looked at the teacher like I was bored. "Can I sit down now?" He looked like he was about to laugh, "Yes go ahead."

I sat down in the back and laid my head down. "Hey." Someone taped my shoulder.

"Hey, River." I looked up and it was this guy and girl.

"What?"

"Sorry but my name is Tiara and his name is Rylan."

"Hi." I laid my head down again.
