Chapter 17: The Foster Family

Cara POV
"No I am never wearing a dress." I argued.
"Come on he'll love it." Cady said with puppy dog eyes. I stared at her for a few seconds. Her eyes were so pleading, like I would disappoint her if I didn't wear her damn dress.
"Fine." I grumbled.
"Victory!" Cady yelled. I grabbed the orange, blue, and green sun dress. It was like splattered paint which was pretty cool. I put it on. It was pretty. It didn't look the best on me but it was decent. I walked out of closet and grabbed the high top converse.
"You're not wearing those are you?" Cady asked.
"It's happening, like it or not." I said. I heard her mumble something about not going together. I rolled my eyes. I looked in the mirror. The outfit looked fine to me. I walked out of the tiny room to see Mabel.
"Omg that looks so cute on you!" They both squealed.
An evil smile found its way to my lips. "I'm not cute." I said focusing flames that came out of my hands. I raised my hands up in the air. Mabel backed up a little. Cady called my bluff and stood her ground. I put the flame out.
"You caught me. I would never hurt my friends." I said with fake sadness.
"OH. MY. GOD! Don't ever do that again! I thought I was dead meat!" Mabel yelled. I heard the door bell ring.
"But we haven't done your hair." Cady whined. I went to answer the door. On the way down the stairs I slid down the railing. It was awesomazing. I ran to the door and before I could see who it was they hugged me. I couldn't really hug them back because their arms were around my arms. Once they let go I saw Avery, Dile, and Hayden. Turns out Avery was the one hugging me.
"What are you all doing here?" I asked, glaring at Hayden. He mouthed 'sorry.'
Hell. Can't someone here freeze time?
Time froze. "Yes!" I said excited. I unfroze Hayden.
"What why is everything grey? And not moving?" he asked once I unfroze him.
"Cara did you freeze time?" Cady yelled.
"Yea!" I yelled.
"Wait you froze time? Why the hell would you do that? I should asking how." Hayden said muttering the last sentence.
"I froze time to do this." I said. I kissed him and he kissed me back. Once we parted we heard giggling. Cady had unfrozen Mabel and they were watching us the whole time.
"Cady!" I yelled. "I'll be right back." I teleported right to where Cady and Mabel were.
Hayden POV
This has to be a new thing, right? She wouldn't hide stuff from me.
I was pacing. How, when did Cara get powers? I heard Cara yelling. I walked up the stairs.
"Mabel why would you let Cady get in the way of something so personal?" Cara yelled.
"Hey we did the same thing to her and Dipper." a girl reasoned.
"Yea I was just doing the same thing you did. Plus this was only two people. You, Mabel, Matthew, and Pacifica were watching Dipper and I." said another girls voice.
"Cady it was a sleepover what the heck did you expect us to do. 'I couldn't find he kitchen.' It was a stupid excuse." Cara roared. I walked around the corner to see Cara arguing with two girls. I walked over and placed a hand on Cara's shoulder. I see a girl that looks a lot like Cara smile evilly.
"So this is your boyfriend?" she said.
I smiled and said, "Yep that's me." Cara turned bright red. She did that a lot around me. I saw the another girl give the biggest grin someone could give.
"Hey I'm Cadence, Cara's sister, but you can call me Cady," said the girl that looked like Cara.
"Hi I'm Mabel," said the grinning girl.
"Well I guess I should unfreeze the rest of my foster family," Cara muttered.
"Wait they're all here?" Cady asked flustered.
"Yea sorry about that," I said rubbing the back of my neck.
"Oh God no one say a thing about our powers," Cady demands. Mabel zipped her lips. I just nodded my head. I was pushed back to the spot I was before being frozen.
Cady POV
I finished blow drying my hair and slid down the railing of the stair case.
"Oh my goodness! Is that even safe?!" some lady screeched.
"Oh no, I'm fine sorry if I scared you," I said.
"My goodness your hair is a mess," she sighed.
"What's wrong with my hair?" I asked.
"Oh nothing if you like tangles," she said.
"Avery!" Hayden hissed.
"Excuse me this is my house-" I started before this lady interrupted me.
"This is your mother's house isn't it."
"It never was and never will be! I paid for all the bills and furniture! Who do you think you are you little-" Cara elbowed me and pointed to a little kid. I grabbed Mabel's arm and dragged her out of the house. Once we were far enough so that the kid couldn't hear me I started ranting.
"That little bitch! She criticized my hair, my house, and me! Who the hell is that self centered!" I yelled.
"Um you might want to change into something more comfortable," Mabel said. I took a deep breath and snapped my fingers. My clothes changed into a baggy tank top and some short shorts with some converse. Then everything turned gray.
"Hey dad," I muttered and kept walking.
"Aw~ sweetie what's wrong." he said sweetly.
"That little bitch thinks she can just come into my house and criticize me!" I shouted.
"I could get rid of her for you," he said.
"You can't kill her dad," I said softly, yet the idea sounded nice.
"Fine," he grumbled and left.
"Cady?! How did you move so fast?" Mabel yelled. I teleported her to where I was. "Thanks," she said embarrassed.
"No problem," I said slightly in a better mood. I looked at my phone. The date was August 17.
"Man we need to enroll in the high school soon," I said.
"Oh yeah Grunkle Stan said he would do that tomorrow," Mabel said.
"Maybe Cara and I can come with you?" I said.
"Omg that would be awesome!" Mabel said.
Cara POV
"Avery what the heck? That was so rude!" I yelled.
"Well I just didn't like the look of her," she said.
"I did the same thing moments ago!" I shouted.
"Well that was-" she started.
"You're not the boss of me anymore! Drew is my legal guardian and I have had enough drama with out you criticizing my sister!" I yelled.
"Who's Drew?" Avery asked
"Wait you have a sister?" Dile yelled excited.
"Yes and Avery drove her away!" I yelled. "I finally have a real family and all you do is criticize them! You're lucky Matthew isn't here he would be super angry and-" She cut me off.
"Look I know this probably isn't the best time but you need to come back to Portland for school."
"No Gravity Falls has a high school and I'm staying here," I said. "And after that do you honestly think I would just leave my sister."
"Hey Cara. Where's Cady? And who are these people?" Matthew asked.
"Just my foster family," I muttered. "and Cady ran into the woods because of this lady."
"What?!" he yelled.
"I told you he would be angry," I said smugly.
"What did you do?" he yelled at Avery.
"Well I just gave her a few tips-" she started.
"You flat out criticized her!" I yelled.
"Why would you do that?!" Matthew screamed. "Get out!"
"You can't-" she started
"Get out!" he yelled again.
"Fine Hayden, Dile come on," she snorted. Dile shook his head. Hayden had a stern look on his face.
"You're a meanie," Dile said holding onto Hayden's lower body. "Plus I want to meet Cara's sister."
"Fine, but I'm coming back to pick you up at the end of the summer," she said and walked out the door.
"What did she say?" Matthew asked.
"Um she needed a new hair style, she needs new furniture and that's it," I said.
"Oh man that lady's rude," he said.
"Yea, should we go find Cady?" I asked.
"Let her blow off so steam. It's better that way," he said.
Mabel POV
Cady and I walked through the door of the shack. We were laughing.
"So he got slapped so many times in the same place he had to get stitches," Cady laughed.
"Oh my god he so deserved it." I said. Then I had an idea. "Omg, we should put on some music!"
"Ok but don't expect me to dance," Cady said. "I'm in a mood!" She stuck out her tongue with the duck face.
"You're crazy!" I yelled.
"I take pride in that," she smiled. I put on Shut up and Dance and turned it up real loud. I started dancing and Cady started singing.
Dipper POV
I heard singing. It was beautiful singing. I walked down the stairs to see Cady and Mabel. Mabel was dancing. Cady was clapping and singing her heart out. I grabbed her hand and started dancing with her. I saw her smile. That was all I needed to tell me this was ok. I twirled her multiple times. The song ended and we stopped dancing because we were out of breath.
"Wow Dipper I didn't know you could dance like that," Cady said.
"Well Mabel always makes me ham it up on the last day of summer," I said embarrassed.
"Why on the last do of summer?" Cady asked.
"That's our birthday!" Mabel shouted.
"Woah that's so cool!" Cady said. Cady grabbed her phone and started texting someone
Cara POV
I heard my phone buzz.

C: OMG Cara! Dipper and Mabel's b-day is coming up.
Ca: When?
C: on the last day of summer
Ca: Let's throw them a surprise party!!
C:hey that was my idea
Ca: I said it first! 😜
C: fine I call decorating!!😜😝
Ca: hey I wanted to decorate
C: gtg I'll be home later
Ca: ok bye

A/n: I'm bored and we just got out of school for Christmas break. My cat won't leave my bed 😡anyway I picked Star vs. the Forces of Evil for another book. It's Starco!!🤗
