Two days later Liz sat in Simon's kitchen awaiting his return from Seattle where the teams last case was. She walked over to the piano and stroked the keys gently. Then she began to play. Nothing fancy just something Simon had once taught her. The house was quiet and she enjoyed some time alone after spending the week at Aaron's. She had hardly been to her house in days and only stopped by Simons to get his mail. He needed a girlfriend or something, the man was lonely. Guess sometimes that's what being in the BAU did to someone.
--
Simon came home to an empty house, to his surprise. He had expected Liz to be there. He walked in and out of each room thinking maybe she was there. Nothing. Her car was still parked out front. Maybe Aaron had picked her up. He walked into his kitchen and poured a glass of milk. Something caught his eyes. A necklace. It was the one Liz wore from her mother. A gold, heart shaped locket. She never took it off. He wandered over to the shiny item to discover a note left on the counter.
I have your precious little girl. You want her back, come find me. Good luck, catch me if you can. ~peter
Peter? Where had he heard that name before. It was someone he knew. Or she knew rather. Peter?
Peter was the man who killed her parents.
Simon began to panic, he whipped around and tore through his briefcase for his phone. He had to call Aaron. His shaky hands dialed Aaron's number. He picked up the second ring.
"Aaron, it's Liz, Peter has her."
Aaron grew timid on the other end and chills ran over his body. He didn't even question it.
"Get everyone in the office now!" He said sternly before hanging up. Simon did so, calling every member back to office as he sped back to the Bureau himself.
They all met in the conference room.
"What's going on?" Reid asked curiously.
Aaron looked like a mess already and everyone could tell something was wrong. "Peter has Liz." He tried to hold back tears.
"Peter?" JJ asked.
"Macson." Simon clarified. "The man who killed her parents."
"I thought he was in prison." Morgan stated.
"He supposed to be." Rossi joined in.
Hotch turned away from the team, distraught. Worried out of his mind. What did Peter want with her? Why now? Why ever for that matter? Aaron had just gotten her back officially why was this happening? He faced his team again. "Garcia I want to know everything you can find on this guy. Every little detail."
"Yes sir." She said, then she scurried down to her office.
"Where's the note he left?" Hotch asked Simon.
Simon reached into his briefcase and pulled out the note and the necklace and handed them both to Aaron.
Wherever she was, he was going to find her, if it was the last thing he did.
--
Liz woke to a pitch black room. She could hear breathing but it wasn't her own. She fidgeted only to discover she was tied to a chair. "Who are you?" She asked.
A creepy laugh filled the air. "Oh Elizabeth, you remember me, don't you?" Suddenly a light flickered on and a lean, gray haired man stood before her.
"I'm afraid I don't recall." She replied, but how could she forget? The man who'd murdered her parents was standing in front of her now. The man who'd almost killed her and her brother  too. She tried to put on a strong face. Aaron had once told her not to show these guys fear no matter what. She heard those words echo in her mind now.
"What? Please, I know you know me."
"Sorry." She whimpered sympathetically, mocking him.
He shook his head. "Maybe this will help you remember."
Another light came on and behind a fence and tied to a chair with his mouth taped was Ben, he older brother. She hadn't talked to him in months. They'd grown apart as they grew older. Gone down different paths and ways of life. She chose the FBI, and he chose drugs.
"Ben!" She nearly screamed.
Ben weakly looked up. His exhausted, blood shot eyes met her still lively and bright ones.
He couldn't say anything but he could see the pity and sorrow in his eyes. As if he was sorry, this, she knew, was not his fault and she wanted him to know that.
Peter turned out the light off Ben so Liz could no longer see him.
"What do you want?" She glared at him.
"To finish what I started." He leaned in close to her.
"Why didn't you finish that same night?" She questioned.
"So you do know who I am. Hmm, I don't like liars."
"Answer my question you son of a bitch."
"No need for name calling sweetheart, that would've been to easy."
She tried to get a read on him. She wanted to know what was going through his head. Find his weaknesses and destroy him, but she got nothing.
"Easy?"
"Fo kill all of you in one night. Take an innocent child's life? Now that's just absurd."
His voice made chills run through her body. Peter noticed this immediately.
"Aw, where's your precious little team of heroes now?"
"I hope you don't think you're going to get away with this."
"I know I won't but by the time they catch me you'll be long gone."
Liz gritted her teeth. She wanted to be sick. She wanted to vomit at the thought of what Aaron would do when he saw her lifeless body. Or the heart break he's experience once again at the loss of someone he loved. And what about Simon, he was her best friend, her, what some might say, soulmate. What would he do? She's all he's got. And the team and Jack, oh Jack. The thought of it broke her heart she could feel tears form in her eyes. No, she thought. No crying, it's weakness in his eyes.
"How'd you even find me?"
He laughed. "Well, my daughter came to visit me a few years ago and told me about this classmate of hers."
This rang a bell in Liz's mind. The girl who sat behind her in english sophomore year. She knew she hated that girl for some reason. She's yelled at her to shut up one day.
"Alyssa?"
"You remember her too."
Something clicked then. The reason he was doing this. His daughter was the same age.
"I know why you couldn't kill me that night."
"Do you?" He was sitting across from her now.
"You looked at me and saw your little girl. You had the chance to kill me but you couldn't because you saw Alyssa when you looked at me. You couldn't stand the thought of killing someone who was so similar to your own."
"So what?"
"So she left didn't she? She found out why you were really in prison. And she ran, she ran and you never saw her again!!! And somehow this my fault?! You don't get to have your most prized possession so you have to take someone else's away!!" She screamed at him thrashing around in her chair.
He got up and grabbed her face. "You listen to me you little bitch, shut up or you'll be dead by sunrise."
Liz didn't even flinch. "I wish you would've killed me that night."
"It was much more fun knowing you were suffering."
She glared at him. "I'm doing just fine."
"You sure?" He tilted his head, "you look a little stressed."
"Kill me! Kill me you coward!"
"Feisty." He winked at her. This disturbed her. He backed away from her and sat back down.

Ben could hear everything from his spot in the room and he prayed that Liz would shut up and keep herself from getting killed, but he knew his sister, despite their lack of communication, and she would never go down without a fight.
"Get some rest Elizabeth." Peter said. "You have a long day tomorrow."
Then the room was completely dark again and the two of them were utterly alone.
