My Opinions on Every Total Drama Couple/Ship: Edition #2

Carrie and Devin (Canon)

  To tell the truth, I held back on talking about this couple because I didn't know what to say about them.  I didn't know whether to give this couple a perfect score, as they reminded me of the romance that Gwen and Cody could have had together, or give them an average score due to their romance kind of being dragged out in the Ridonculous Race.  I also didn't want to offend anyone with my opinions, especially one of my biggest fans of these Watt Pad stories, who I thank a lot for her constant votes.  So, I really thought about it, and now I think I have a good idea of what to say for these two.  I thank the recent re-watching of the Ridonculous Race to go back to my reviews for it, as a few more things about this couple came into my view. 

  Here is what I think about Carrie and Devin now.  I absolutely adore these two together.  Their love story is an almost perfect best friends turn into lovers tale, which is just as great as it sounds.  Carrie and Devin have been great friends since they were kids, so it makes tons of sense that eventually they would end up together through a great bonding experience.  The Ridonculous Race was that bonding experience, and it worked perfectly.  Devin realized the girlfriend he was dating, Shelly, was nothing but a complete jerk and that Carrie was always the one for him.  Yeah, he found out that after she cheated on him with her tennis instructor, but it still made him realize this.  Carrie had loved him for most of her life, and had waited so patiently for him to be with her.  It was so hard for her to wait that long at times, as the feelings would always be there whenever she hung out with him.  However, her patience paid off when Devin finally kissed her on the episode of their elimination.  It is just one of those heartwarming love stories that I can't resist.

  The best parts about them is that they remind me so much of a reverse situation with Gwen and Cody, and were the reason another team got a second chance in the race.  As most readers probably know by now, I'm a huge shipper for Gwen and Cody.  I always thought Cody deserved to be with Gwen due to his undying loyalty of her and all the times he risked his life to save her.  Sure, it was Gwen's choice in the end not to be with him, but there is this part of me that wishes she gave him a chance.  Carrie's love towards Devin, which was very similar to Cody's love for Gwen, filled that hole in my heart.  Trust me when I say I jumped for joy when Carrie got Devin in the end if their storyline, which was how I would've reacted if Cody ended up with Gwen.  Also, both characters were extremely kind towards others, and never forgot when someone did them a favor.  So when the Surfer Dudes sacrificed their position in the game in order to let Carrie and Devin continue, they never forgot that favor.  That is why when Carrie had to quit the game due to Devin's injuries, she decided to give that open slot now available to the team that gave them a second chance.  By fate, the team they chose ended up winning the game in a great comeback and half of the million will now go to the team that they once saved.  (The Surfer Dudes promised it once they returned to the game.) 

  I just love Carrie and Devin together, and I hope for only the best in the future.

  Rating:  10/10  (Although my favorite couple will always be Noah and Emma, Carrie and Devin still have a really special place in my heart.)
