And again, I was sucked into a dream; spirit dream, to be precise. I was sure it was Adrian. No doubt Adrian is going to accuse me again, as he didn't get the chance last time. Of course, he was right, but don't he understand that Rose is not invincible? She needs rest, from the physical as well as mental fatigue.  Ugh. Adrian is going to die tomorrow.
But to my surprise, Adrian didn't come. Atleast for now. Maybe he's thinking how to start, the proper way. While I waited for him to come, I stared at the setting. After two minutes, no one came, not even Adrian.
Maybe Adrian is not coming. Maybe this dream must be conjured by Sonya. Or maybe Robert Dashkov, to accuse me of Victor's death.
In my dream, I found myself standing in my room - and by my room, I mean the one I used when I was at the Academy. Wow. It felt great to see this room. I'd missed the familiarity in this prim, neat Royal room.
And then, the person I least expected - well not at all expected - came from the door of my room.
     Lissa.
     !!!!
"Lissa?!" I asked, my eyes going wide.
"Hey Rose!" She said, clearly excited, like we were meeting after a long time.
"How?" Even I was delighted now, despite my shock.
"Well, I was practicing secretly, with Adrian of course. He'd always  explained me like a thousand times, but I wasn't just getting hang of it. I was frustrated. And one day, I tried, rather angrily and.... I just did it out of the blue." She smiled at me, watching my eager expression,"I know I know, it's very much exciting."
     "When?" I asked.
She understood. "I first conjured the dream when you were locked in that stupid cell; it was just for two minutes, but at least that is something. I knew I had to do something for clearing your name, but the ways were very few to achieve that. I thought - and Adrian too encouraged - that it would be better if I learned dream-walking, so that I can keep in touch with you. And then came up the plan of sneaking you away from the Court. Well, I thought I would see you while you are away.
I was dying to see you in dreams, dying to tell you I learned this as soon as I first did it, but Adrian said that I should try on someone else, just to make sure that the first time was not by luck. I experimented on Adrian and Christian. And.... I was able to do it. Now I can keep up this dream for probably 30 minutes, more or less. It's my limit.
I'm so happy, Rose. I finally did it." She paused, waiting for me to say something.
"Well, Liss, it's really an exciting news. But don't you think you talked a little bit longer than I planned to hear?" I mocked, but deep down, I was very happy for her.
She grinned, replying in a wistful voice,"Only if I had practiced this stuff and perfected it, when you were away. I would have been less worried about you then."
Seeing her sad like that made my heart ache. "Liss, you're here, I'm here. Worry about now, not the past," I said quickly, soothingly.
"You're right, Rose" - I'm always right  - "Isn't this exciting? We will be able to talk everyday, even if you are away from me or me from you."
"Yeah!" And then, I remembered something. "Liss, you okay, right?"
Confusion replaced her excitement. "What do you mean?"
"I mean, they didn't, umm, scold you or something? For our night's events?" I asked anxiously.
"Oh that. No, I was not even asked questions, let alone chidings and punishment. I'm the Queen, remember?" Lissa said, winking at me.
"Oh right. You are lucky," I shrugged.
"Why lucky? I mean--" and then she cut off her sentence, understanding coloring her face. "Did Hans gave you a hard time? I'd saw him coming up to you when we were escorted to our room. He looked pretty much pissed."
"Yeah, he was. More than you can imagine," I said wryly.
     "Maybe I --"
     And the dream ended.
I woke up immediately, trying to get my bearings. Why did the dream end, and that too so abruptly? Is she in trouble?
Without thinking anything else, I changed and was out of the room in no time. I thought about waking up Dimitri, but decided against it. He might be protective of Lissa, but after all, he's Christian's guardian.
I literally ran across the corridor and made my way to the royal wing of the Court, my anxiety growing steadily.
And then, I ran into Dimitri, who was guarding the royal wing's passageway. He'd took his battle stance - like me - but straightened up when he saw me; the person running crazily across the corridor.
"Rose? What are you doing here?" He asked, apparently astonished.
"Dimitri! What are YOU doing here?" He started to say something but I stopped him. "Never mind. I want to see Lissa. Now."
"Why?" Didn't he notice the urgency in my voice?
"It's important." And with that I shoved him aside and ran to her room. He quietly produced a key, and I opened the door as quickly as I could.
"I'd checked on her sometime ago," he said softly, not wanting to wake Lissa up. I ignored him, and felt relief spread in my mind which was superficial.
There she was, in the middle of her huge bed, sleeping peacefully. Even all the other things were at their right places. However, I felt like something was off, which I was not able to pinpoint.
"You want to explain why you came like this, barging in Lissa's room?" Dimitri said curtly.
"I'll explain soon, comrade," I whispered back to him and went near her bed.
I gently touched her, in hope that she'll wake up. Nope. She didn't even twitched a little. I again tried, a little forcibly. It was like she was a half dead corpse; she didn't even twitched or budged from her position. She was very much still, her body limp and her breaths irregular. Her forehead was covered with tiny beads of perspiration and her pulse rate was lower than normal. I panicked when the truth dawned on me.
     Lissa was unconscious.
