Forgetting yesterday

I'm the walking disaster (Chapter five)

Here it is, chapter five, we finally find out who it is Leigh bumped into! :D

Chapter Five.

            "Max? Oh my gosh, its been years." Max was a neighbour of mine as a kid, I was close to him, he was one of my childhood best friends, that was until he moved away, I was only nine when he left but max being a year and a half older then me was ten going on eleven. Max had left no reason as to why he was leaving, he just left one day. I was shocked, completely lost for words, "How have you been?" I questioned, he looked at me suspiciously "do I know you?" he replied, " Max it's me Leigh, we were neighbours and friends when we were little?" Max left out a quick laugh under his breath, before walking away, closely followed his group of friends all staring me down, like I was a desperate tramp. I went through the rest of the day trying to take in what had actually happened at lunch, I was so close to Max as a child, and now, now he doesn't even want to know me.

            When the bell rang to bring school to an end, I ran to find Max, on my way I bumped into Niall, almost knocking him over "Woah little lady, what's the rush, this school is hardly that bad?" he laughed, "oh um sorry Niall, I'm just looking for someone" I remarked. "Who is it maybe, I could help?" he spoke with excitement in his voice, "Uh no it's fine really, I'm just loo-", "Leigh, there you are!" I turned to see Kate walking towards me, "oh hey Kate, are you walking home, maybe I could go with you?" I'd rather miss seeing Max then have to walk home with Niall and his many questions,  "but I thought you were looking for someone?" Niall questioned, "No forget about. I'll see you tomorrow Niall". 

          Kate and I made our way out the door when Brody appeared, "Hey babe" he kissed Kate on the lips. "Who were you looking for, before we left?" Kate questioned, "Oh just an old friend, who I bumped into today" I replied, "Ouh does Leigh wish he was more then an old friend?" she slighly remarked, I giggled "yeah actually I wish he was, he is so attractive, everything I need to, f-forget yesterday" I said sadly, no one here at Orlando High, knew my true story, about Danial, and his death. "And does this mystery 'friend' have a name?" she laughed, "His name is Max and he is amaz-" Brody cut me off "Woah hold up, Max? Max George?", my eyes lit up, "yeah do you know him?" "Yeah, but I wish I didn't!" he stated. I looked at Kate and Brody with a look of confusion, Kate went on to make sense of Brody's statement, "Max George is leader of the school troublemakers, he deals drugs, and uses women for sex, he will beat anyone who looks at him the wrong way, he doesn't care who you are. He attacked Brodys sister when she was out with her friends one night. He really is trouble, you should just stay away from him and trouble, while you still can". I was quite shocked about what Kate had just said, and things escalated after she spoke about Max like that. "Ha, you think you know Max better then I do? Well you're wrong Kate he's an amazing guy, Iv known him way longer then you claim to, so don't think you can tell me lies about him, cause I wont believe it!" I snarled as I stormed off down the street.

          I arrived home in anger. "Hey sweetie, how did you find it?" my mother implied, "I don't want to talk about it Mother, and I honestly think moving here was the most selfish and idiotic thing you have ever done!" I snapped while running up the stairs to my bedroom and locking the door. I soon heard foot steps coming up the stairs after me, "sweetie, its mum, come on open the door, I don't want to be arguing with you" with no reply from me she tried talking again, "I know you miss home, and Danial, but you know I'm always here if you need to talk, won't you just explain to me what happened?" I didn't feel like talking to anyone but Max right now. "Okay, if you don't want to talk I guess I'll just leave you alone, I really am sorry for moving you here, but I think it's only for the best that we stay away from London" I heard my mother walking away down the steps of the stairs. Maybe my mother was right, maybe it is for the best that we left London, even though I miss Danial like mad, staying there wouldn't have brought him back, and I wouldn't have found Max if I stayed in London either. 

         I skipped Dinner and lay in my room all evening feeling miserable, I had pushed my only friend away, and hurt my mother, I decided to go for a quick bath before bed so i got my towel and my pajamas and headed for the bathroom. 

          The next Morning, I woke up and went to my wardrobe to find something to wear, I settled on  grey leggings, an over sized yellow hoodie and my yellow converse, I tied my hair up in a messy bun and did my everyday makeup routine. I went down the stairs to see a plate of pancakes with honey waiting for me at the table. I sat down and began to eat them when my mum walked into the kitchen, I looked at her, sadness in my eyes, "mum I'm so sorry about what I said yesterday,  I was just so angry" she suddenly spoke "Sweetie it's fine really, I can understand your anger, leaving him behind must have been hard." She gently gave me a kiss on the forehead before heading up the stairs. I looked at the time "Uh oh, better get moving or I'll be late."

           I arrived in school, and headed straight to do my locker, Max crossed right in front of me as I did, now was my chance I could finally stop him and talk to him, without his stupid friends being around, but Kate was also at her locker with Brody. I had a choice to make, finally get my chance to talk to Max alone, or apologise for my ridiculous behaviour towards Kate and Brody yesterday after school. "Ugh" I was gonna hate myself for missing out on this opportunity, but my friendship with Kate was important to me, especially when she was the only one kind enough to be friends with me. I made my way towards Kate and Brody, "Hey guys." I got no remark from either of them, "I-I just wanted to say sorry for what happened yesterday. I was being immature and stupid, I know his trouble, but I just want to learn it for myself." Still with no remark from either of them I just said my last few words and began to walk away, " I g-guess that's all I wanted to say to you, I really am sorry" I walked towards my locker "Wait!" Kates gentle voice spoke, I turned, "It's your life, we should let you mess it up if you want to" she said with a giggle "If you want to be with Max, then don't let us stop you" she smiled. "Max" uh no not Niall, not another person to tell me all about what Max has done, "w-what? I-I mean why him? His trouble, you can do much better, I mean you're beautiful, smart and funny, I don't see how he is your interes-" I snapped "NIALL! JUST SHUT UP! I'M NOT INTERESTED IN YOU OR YOUR BUNCH OF CLOWNS, SO JUST STOP TRYING, YOU'RE NOT EVEN INTERESTING, YOU'RE ANNOYING, YOU DO NOTHING BUT LAUGH AND HALF THE TIME THERE IS NOTHING TO EVEN LAUGH AT, YOU'RE AN IDIOT!!!" *Gulp* what, had I done? I saw Nialls eyes fill with tears, "I-I didn't me-" I was cut off by his anger, which was only acceptable after what I had just done, "Just save it!" He snarled. I watched him walk down the hall in anger, I turned to see Kate in shock before she chased after him, "Nice one, Leigh, really you make things so much better for yourself, I thou-, we thought you were nice, guess you can't judge a book by its cover, huh?" Brody said before following Kate who was following Niall. I really made a mess of things, didn't I?
