Poem #36

Her hands shake

As the letters are etched

Into the paper.

Tears fill her eyes

Then soon spill

Over and wet her cheeks.

The pill bottle quivers

In her tight grip

As she brings it to her lips.

Capsules rattle

As they fall out of their container

And flood the girl's mouth.

The pain killers are swallowed,

Soon bringing an end

To the never ending agony.

Looking in the mirror

For the very last time

She says goodbye.

Her body collapses.

Now she lies on the bathroom floor,

Feeling pain no more.
