We find a job in a town in Iowa. While walking around a bit, we see a guy doing magic tricks so we stop and see what's going on and join the small crowd.
"This isn't a trick, okay?" The magician says. "I don't do tricks. This is a demonstration about demons and angels and love and lust." This oughta be good.
"What a douche bag." Dean says.
"All that stuff mixed up in my head."
"That's Jeb Dexter." Sam says.
"I don't even want to know how you know that." I say. This guy is wearing black skinny jeans and eyeliner.
"He's famous...kind of."
"For what douchebaggery?" Dean asks.
"But no matter what happens, no matter how messed up it gets, don't touch me, okay? For your own safety." Jeb says. He starts taking deep breaths. He then starts gasping. "Go back to hell demon!" He tells and his deck of cards go flying from his hand. There's a card that gets stuck on the inside of the window of the shop behind him. He wipes his hand over the window to prove that the card is inside. "Is this your card?" He asks someone. Everybody starts clapping.
"You've got to be kidding me. A fake demon possession?" I say. We starts walking away.
"I can't believe people actually fall for that crap." Dean says.
"It's not all crap." Sam says.
"What part of that was not a steaming pile of B.S.?"
"Okay, that was crap, but that's not all magicians. It takes skill."
"Oh right, I forgot, you were actually into this stuff weren't you?" Dean asks Sam. "You had like a deck of cards and a wand."
"Seriously?" I ask laughing.
"I was thirteen, it was a phase." Sam says defending himself."
"Just-it bugs me. Actually it offends me. You know, playing at demons and magic." Dean says.
"When the real thing will kill you bloody." I add in.
"Like a guy who drops dead of 10 stab wounds without a single tear in his shirt." Sam says.
"That's what I'm talking about." Me and Dean say. We keep walking to the house of the guy that died. The usual routine to the assistant of the magician that died.
"So did your boss have any enemies that you know of?" I ask her.
"Vance had plenty of enemies."
"How so?" Sam asks.
"He would steal from other magicians, all the time."
"What would he steal?" I ask.
"Stage effects, close up techniques, anything he could get his hands on."
"Is that enough to get him killed?" Dean asks.
"These guys take this stuff pretty seriously. There you are." She says as she takes the cover off something and there's a white rabbit there.
"Did you find anything weird in Vance's stuff? Well, weirder." Dean asks.
"Matter of fact, I did." She says as she puts the rabbit down. She pulls a card out of a jacket. On the card there's a picture of a person with swords sticking in him.
"I'm guessing this didn't belong to Vance." Sam as we takes the card from her. No! Really?
"He hated card tricks. Never wanted them around. Let alone in his precious cape.
