Miyabino used to be bullied before he became a part of the soccer team. He wasn't like most of the students who could afford enrolling in Teikoku, he got a scholarship instead.
He used to be bullied because he was weak, small and those who bullied him don't think he deserves a place in such a prestigious school. One day, Miyabino joined the soccer team, in hoped of getting stronger to show his former bullies how much he deserves a place there and how strong he can be.
A stupid additional headcanon:
There is some sort of caste system in Teikoku. Students weren't taught about it but somehow it was clear enough for them.
Aristocrats and soccer captain belong in the first caste.
Soccer players who belong in Teikoku (aka rich ones) belong in the second caste.
Normal students who belong in Teikoku are in the third caste.
And lastly, those who got a scholarship are in the last caste.
