(A little something for my dear SoarLikeTheWind because I wanted to do something ( • ̀ω•́  )✧)

After the match with Raimon, Arata really was threatened to be kicked out of the team (like in the manga). Arata was quite taken aback by the threat, and was concerned of his status as a part of the team (especially when they were just able to play sakka freely). Sugimori tries to make him feel better as a good captain, but doesn't really work out since he was a bit stiff (I imagine him being really stiff when they were still using the controller thingy. He wasn't too stiff anymore, though in times like these, he just isn't sure what to do). But after some talk, he didn't end up being kicked out after all.

When he got the offer to play in Neo Japan and eventually agreeing, he started leaving practice quite often. Sugimori thought Arata still had the whole kicked out threat in his head and didn't feel comfortable training. He tried to reach out to him at rare times where he was actually there during practice, but it didn't solve anything since he was somehow more distant.

That was when he followed Arata to whatever place he had to go to leave practice. And there, Sugimori found out about Arata's new team Neo Japan, who consisted of a lot of FF participants and Aliea members. At first he felt betrayed somehow, and he just doesn't exactly know how to react. But after some straightening out with Arata, Sugimori gave his support.

(I was a bit hesitant with this for some reason. And for the pic, I actually have a lot of pics of them but none of them seem to match so (´っωc') )
